My son recently surprised me when he said that Anonymous threatened to take action against police corruption in Minn. He later said that Anonymous was going to go after corruption all over the US and other countries. My first thought was Anonymous sounds like youtube conspiracy wackos, but my second thought was wouldn't it be nice to have somebody go after corruption all over the world? It just struck me that Anonymous was claiming they were going to do what the media was supposed to be doing all along. I know everyone is saying the news is a for profit product, but I sure wish they were the 4th estate going after corruption. Is there any way media could go to a watch dog stance, or is that impossible. What would it take to make news less of a product and more of an essential service?
