A 141-year-old Galapagos tortoise named Gramma, who lved through two world wars and 20 presidents, died at the San Diego Zoo.
She was born in her native habitat and arrived at the California zoo from the Bronx Zoo in 1928.
The “Queen of the Zoo” suffered from bone problems for a long time.

Meerkats see snow for the first time
With the onset of winter at Chelyabinsk Zoo, staff built snowmen for their charges—African meerkats. The snow caused genuine excitement among the animals.
