Protestors Chant "Free The Dogs!" At Beagle Breeding Facility

Oh my goodness. I was going to post about this story.... but you beat me to it.

I was just going to add it to an existing thread that I created a couple years ago, about rescuing abused animals. (You might remember that thread.)

I haven't watched that video you posted yet...but I've been seeing footage of what happened, on my Instagram feed. And what went down a couple days ago was HORRIBLE.

People were tear gassed, pepper-sprayed, beaten... and the whole thing was so disgusting I could barely stand to watch it.

I was going to share a clip that I saw the other day, but now I can't find it. I'll try to find it and then post it a little later.

I heard about that. Some people are extremely disgusting. The poor dogs suffer. 😢

To me they're better than humans and only second better to God Himself because dog is God backwards. We truly don't deserve them either.
I see why young people are not procreating but instead getting dogs. My granddaughter has a house big enough for 6 kids, instead she has 4 golden and no kids.

Btw, if it meant going to jail to save these dogs from being tortured and killed well goodbye freedom.

Yeah, this has been a very sad and disgusting story. I applaud the people who are willing to get personally involved in helping these poor animals.

Again, some things are worth going to jail for. If I lived near there I would certainly do what I could to get those dogs out of there even if it meant kissing my freedom goodbye.

Man!

That is just not something you want to chant around Me.

That beagle is going to come out!

Same! Freedom be gone with me and my man. Hey buttercup, I found the video that you were referring to and the comments here are disgusting. People really don't care about these dogs at all. 😢

It didn’t say what alleged abuse was occurring.

There are a number of abuses. For starters, they are kept indoors in small wire cages their entire life, never getting to experience grass, sunshine or playing, which causes them to literally go insane from the captivity and fear. Also, mutilations without anesthesia, they have been injected with rabies, for "testing", their vocal cords ripped out (see the clip below), they are surrounded by feces, urine, and even dead bodies of other dogs, no veterinary care, to name a few things.

This is just disgusting. This is supposed to end HERE in a couple months. We just need to stop living like this:

Ridglan Farms, located in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, is a large-scale commercial breeder that produces beagles specifically for biomedical research and experiments. Operating for nearly 60 years, the facility supplies thousands of beagles to labs across the U.S.. Following allegations of animal cruelty and investigation, the farm agreed to cease research sales and close, aiming to surrender its license by July 1, 2026, and transfer its remaining dogs.

Key Aspects of Their Operations:
Purpose-Bred Beagles: They breed dogs for laboratory research, with some on-site experimentation occurring, according to and.
Animal Welfare Allegations: The facility has faced intense scrutiny for, as reported by, holding dogs in crowded, often feces-filled cages, with reported incidents of surgical procedures performed without anesthesia, as described by and.
Legal Action: A Dane County judge previously found probable cause of animal cruelty. To avoid prosecution, the facility agreed to a shutdown, with reporting that they must stop supplying to labs by July 2026.
Recent Developments: In April 2026, reported that Ridglan Farms reached an agreement to transfer a significant portion of its remaining dogs to rescue organizations and groups.

They hold USDA licenses, but have faced 311 violations of Wisconsin administrative codes, according to, and are known for producing thousands of beagles for research annually, per and
