And to think that left continues to demand MORE government

Nothign more pathetic than an internst bad asss that has never done anything with their life.
I promise you that I’ve done more with my life in any two years than you’ve done in an entire lifetime. I didn’t put on shiny boots and then beg high school kids to fight for me.

Cleaning up the basement when you mommy yells at you is not considered an accomplishment.

Unimaginable and inexcusable ineptitude by our federal government.
An audit conducted by Ernst & Young found that the agency’s accounting procedures are so flawed that there is no reliable way to track how it uses its $40 billion annual budget.
If a private organization was this inept, the left would take to the streets with violence. They would demand all kinds of “regulatory” reforms and legislation. And yet when it happens with tax payer dollars, all they do is shrug and insist that we need more government.

Major Pentagon agency can’t account for $800 million — but still may get a budget increase
Lol, it's you trumpkins that want more military spending, not us sensible folks.

Correct, the sensible ones want spending for NPR and PBS.
Indeed.

Nobody is calling for cuts in R&D. We're calling for cuts in playing World Police. We can still have the most dominant military if we force some accountability and make the military spend those funds wisely, on our defense, not on Germany's or South Korea's or Japan's or anyone else.

Yeah, well......the world police is not a worldwide position that we created; it sort of just developed.
.

Wrong...it was a specific strategy as part of expanding our power and influence.

No, it's to maintain our power and influence. All our military and nukes won't do us any good if most of the world is run by Communists, dictators and tyrants, That's why it's important to have a country strong enough to protect these countries from getting that way.

What progressivism does is supplement failure. Which...surprise...results in more failure. :eusa_doh:
This program subsidizes flood insurance by providing coverage below the actuarially fair rate, thereby encouraging people to build their homes and businesses in flood-prone areas. This results in more people living in harm’s way and makes large-scale disaster more costly.

Rather than expand the flood insurance program as FEMA has suggested, Congress should retire it and allow the private sector to provide. Private-sector insurance would set prices according to a region’s risk level, thereby discouraging development in high-risk flood zones.
The private sector does the exact opposite. It penalizes failure and rewards success. Which is why the private sector always results in more success than government.

Then, they should pay us for it. The rest of the world seems to think we owe it. Let them live without our protection for while if they don’t like it.

Since we will no longer protect them, then Russia can take over most of Europe. We'll just stand by and watch. Let North Korea take over the South. Let China take over Taiwan. Let Iran take over Israel. What would we do if they neared our borders? So what? Let them take over Canada and Mexico. They have oil.

This way if we ever have a world war, it will be us against nearly every other country on the planet. Sure, we can hold the rest of the world off.

And that is exactly the problem.

If we don't want to be the world police anymore, there are plenty of countries who will gladly take that responsibility off our hands. Just think of all the countries that are large enough or strong enough to take our place.

The $800 million unaccounted for was within a Pentagon agency. It's the GOP that advocates throwing money at the military. The Democrats would prefer to use that dough for something like a study on why bears crap in the woods?

And to think that progressives want the federal government to have unlimited money and unlimited power.

If this is what they were doing in the 1960’s, just imagine what they are doing now.

FBI tracked King's every move - CNN.com

Look at all of the progressives disingenuously avoiding the issue by pretending that this only happens in the Department of Defense (because that perfectly suits their “weaken the U.S.” agenda). You can’t have it both ways, lefties.

"Disingenuously avoiding the issue"?

You never made a point about the entire govt.
You made a point over the DoD and a Republican plan to raise it's budget and then blamed Democrats.

Truly dopey.

Government was supposed to be low paying, civil “service” jobs. But sadly, greedy progressives have turned them into high paying, corruption jobs.
The U.S. government pays employees a total of about $1 million per minute, according to a watchdog group’s report on the sprawling federal bureaucracy.

Looking at 78 large agencies, the nonprofit organization OpenTheBooks.com found that the average salary of a federal employee exceeds $100,000 and that roughly 1 in 5 of those on the government payroll has a six-figure salary.

Almost 30,000 rank-and-file government employees make over $190,823, more than any governor of the 50 states.
