"Democrats Abandon the Middle Ground Our political playing field has moved so far to the left that the fifty-yard line is now in the end zone.
One after another, the Democrats have abandoned the fundamental tenets of our national dialogue. Now it’s up to the Republicans to seize the ground the Democrats have abandoned.
Democrats have abandoned the goal of racial equality in favor of the demented notion of racial equity—a doctrine based on the injustices of the past three hundred years rather than anything that is happening now. To say that government should be colorblind, and schools racially integrated, has become a radical, inflammatory position, inviting at least a sharp debate, and perhaps, a riot.
Similarly, the idea of feminism, so deeply embedded in our culture, is now subordinate to the goal of elevating transgender people above women. The rights of gays and trans people have become more important than those of women or girls. Two hundred years of feminism, from Mary Wollstonecraft and Elizabeth Cady Stanton to Susan B. Anthony, Betty Friedan, and Gloria Steinem, have lost their revered place in our history—their rights overtaken and canceled by the more recent demands of the LGBTQ movement.
Now it is up to us Republicans and conservatives to pick up the fallen banner of feminism. But the Democrats’ flight away from our traditional national goals extends far beyond the realm of social issues, and goes into economics and fiscal policy."
