Well, I am not at all alarmed. I am delighted. Let them go. The north will be all the better for it. Lincoln fought to preserve the union and the abolishion of slavery and the reconstruction amendments, as by products of the conflict were the only good that came of it.

Now, we no longer have a union to preserve, We are already two separate nations. Those who believe in democracy, the constitution and who are in touch with reality, and the Trumpism-Qanon fanatics who believe in the supremacy of the white, wealthy, Christian, cisgender and heterosexual population. The only difference is that we are not entirely separated along geographical lines although many of the Trumpers are concentrated in the south.

We can fix that. We in the North-The Progressive States of America- will welcome all progressives and liberals who wish to escape the south and most will. They will enrich our culture and economy and our level of education, intellect and emotional maturity. We will provide special refugee/ asylum status to Muslims another racial/ ethnic minorities, LGBT people and progressives
The Trumpers in the North will be overwhelmed and alienated a flee for the comfort of the New Confederates States of America like roaches exposed to the light of day.

Our foreign policy with respect to the south will be simple. You are on your own. No foreign aid. We will not boycott them as we did to Cuba, but we will not help them as then descend into chaos and economic ruin, and cope with the reality that Washinton is no longer the piggy bank that used to send them more dollars than they paid in taxes.

It's clear that certain regions of this country do not want to live in the same country as other regions.

The Union has centralized so much that individual states are no longer able to narrowly tailor their policies for their specific needs.

We need the FedGov to go back to what it was originally set up to do -- share a common defense, a common currency, and to promote uniform interstate commerce.

Anything outside those objectives should be ended. Otherwise, we are headed for secession in our lifetimes.

I've been saying for the last couple of years that we need to divide this country into two countries instead. Half for the more conservative people and the other half for the liberal leaning people. They don't have to put up with us and we wouldn't have to put up with them.

I say we give the Democrats the west side of the country. They can bring in all the immigrants to their hearts content since Mexico will be their border. They can make firearms illegal. They can not have any police at all if they don't want. They can tax their businesses at 70% which is their utopian dream. Their side of the country can be loaded with solar panels and windmills for energy, with government controlling their heat/ AC settings. Their constitution will not guarantee them freedom of speech or religion, only Big Brother messages. Free healthcare, college, daycare, and whatever else they wish the government to control.

Nothing would make me happier. After all, if the Democrats had to move out of my city and state, my property value would double or more overnight.
