I am issue driven, not tribal. I was raised an anti-Communist, and the simple fact is the Democrats offer me nothing, with the possible exception of legal weed.

That does not tip the scales.

Left and Right is to simple. There are a myraid of issues which can be liked or not on both sides. But the far left controls the Democratic Party. Neutering to some affect moderate and conservative Dems who have no voice even when they elect those who are supposed to give them one. Far left Repubs do the same many times as they are influenced by left leaning Progs.
