That is actually a hold over from their socialist past. Nothing the socialist governments ever built was any good. Widespread code violations, below spec building materials etc. that's why when you go to eastern Europe the only really nice buildings are the old ones.
In the former East Germany whole blocks of communist buildings have been demolished because they were so crappy. Kind of like their Trabants

Shows there are idiots on the east coast also. We routinely get 120+ temps and the roads never buckle, why do they buckle in other areas at 30 degrees lower temps? Because they are not properly designed for it, because these types of temps only happen every decade or so. I think the last one like this was in 2001.
But keep trying to tell me that 100 is hot, you might succeed if you repeat it long enough.

A documentary about the men who invented crop circles. The two guys made one especially for the doc, and were filmed doing so. The next day, when Britain's leading "crop circles are made by aliens" guy shows up, the filmmakers show him the footage.

It has not been proven. In fact it has been disproved many times. Otherwise the Earth would allready be in a major heating trend irrespective of el Nino or la Nina induced cycles. And the Earth is not. For every warm record that Chris loves to pontificate about I can present an area that is "abnormally cold".
It's called weather. It changes a lot. It has allways changed a lot. It will allways change a lot. I have to laugh everytime Chris posts one of his records, yes the record was broken....that means it was hotter a long time ago before man was around to screw things up.
That is the only thing man can prove about GW. It was warmer in the past and it took x number of years to break the record in the first place. Even a four year old (I will grant you however she is pretty damned sharp!) figured that out without my help. Why can't you?

You're fixated on temps. I don't care if they've haven't changed at all. If the gases keep rising, warming is inevitable and no amount gobble-de-gook designed to confuse the science challenged is going to repeal the Laws of Chemistry and Physics.

You know Ravi, I thought you were smarter than that. Clearly I was wrong. I will make it simple for you to understand. I was not commenting on the fact that there is reportedly a "heatwave" in Europe. I was pointing out the ridiculous hyperbole of trying to equate the deaths of a bunch of drunk swimmers as the result of said heatwave.
Though to continue with the "heatwave" itself. I find it amazing that the news saw fit to report on something that is natural. We get 95 degree weather here all the time. You know what? No one notices.

But, but, but konrad, don't you see. The gasses have been rising at an increased rate for DECADES and there is no measurable difference. You had your chance. The Law of Thermodynamics says your theory was wrong and so it has been proven out. As a group of German scientists wrote to Chancellor Merkel,
"The July 26, 2009 German scientist letter urged Chancellor Merkel to “strongly reconsider” her position on global warming and requested a “convening of an impartial panel” that is “free of ideology” to counter the UN IPCC and review the latest climate science developments.
The scientists, from many disciplines, including physicists, meteorology, chemistry, and geology, explain that “humans have had no measurable effect on global warming through CO2 emissions. Instead the temperature fluctuations have been within normal ranges and are due to natural cycles.”
“More importantly, there's a growing body of evidence showing anthropogenic CO2 plays no measurable role,” the scientists wrote. “Indeed CO2's capability to absorb radiation is almost exhausted by today's atmospheric concentrations. If CO2 did indeed have an effect and all fossil fuels were burned, then additional warming over the long term would in fact remain limited to only a few tenths of a degree,” they added.
“The IPCC had to have been aware of this fact, but completely ignored it during its studies of 160 years of temperature measurements and 150 years of determined CO2 levels. As a result the IPCC has lost its scientific credibility,” the scientists wrote.
“Indeed the atmosphere has not warmed since 1998 – more than 10 years, and the global temperature has even dropped significantly since 2003. “free of ideology”???? Yeah, the deniers are "free of ideology". What a laugh. It's also not just CO2. What of the other gases? While CO2 is on the forefront, there are others including some not found in nature, that are even more potent than CO2. They're parroting a line designed to fool the uninitiated in order to further an agenda. To say that the CO2 concentration effect is somehow maxed out, doesn't pass the smell test, IMO. They're fighting hard to equate a percieved lack of openess with bad science. They have to make it a political issue because 99% of the deniers' scientific objections turn out to be total nonsense.
