I could never understand why folks would do hard drugs. It is like a death wish.

They have control over lesser drugs and believe they can control the harder ones as well. Big mistake. Some are raised with a downer and self-pitying attitude. They go through life thinking "what's the use", and easily fall into substance abuse.

Gambling is more addictive than cigarettes.

I am addicted to sugar. I have to pay close attention to how much sugar I eat, since I am a diabetic. And yes, sugar really can be an addiction.
