Americans are presently paying 90% of the tariffs put up by Trump. That is an additional $1,000 per year, per household

We are probably buying more american and that’s offsetting the drop in international sales.

That is the goal. I don't know how much it is happening yet.

Countries want to sell to us, not buy.

That's kind of the point. THey want to get the JOBS from exporting, so that they can get the INCOME of those jobs, into their systems.

And they want to get the benefit on their end, while NOT letting us get a balance of that on OUR end.

That is why they CAN'T replace us. EVERYONE wants the same part of the deal. We were the only suckers who were willing to be the world's *****.

The previous model is breaking down. It would have regardless of Trump, Trump is just stepping on the gas a bit.

Carney will travel to India, Australia and Japan from Feb. 26 to March 7.

"In a more uncertain world, Canada is focused on what we can control," Carney said in a statement. "We are diversifying our trade and attracting massive new investment to create new opportunities for our workers and businesses. We are forging new partnerships abroad to create greater certainty, security and prosperity at home."

Despite rising diplomatic tensions and Japan's massive new $550 billion investment deal with the US, China remains Japan's largest trading partner, with Japanese exports to China surging in early 2026

We are losing our customers dude.

Manufacturing is a matter of national security. Screw them if they don't like it. There was a video on X of Nancy Pelosi complaining about how we should tariff China because of unfair trade practices 30 years ago.

It should have been done then.

The economy is thriving after Trump has removed Bidens economy strangling orders and policies.
We now have low cost gas, the biggest tax cut in history for the middle class and that hasnt even started yet. That will put 6 billion into the economy on private hands. An end to renewable energy which increases costs and cant meet demand. 3 million illegals deported. GDP up 4 quarters and is 4.3%. 300000 useless federal jogs fired and all new jobs are private jobs. Manufacturing at records his DOW over 50,000. Europe sending manufacturing over here in large numbers. Wages have gone up more than inflation which is slowing. CPI 2.2%. This is the road to the strongest economy in history and democrats fought these reforms every step of the way.
If we allow them to take over its Biden 2.0 everything costs more crime goes up taxes go up inflation goes up and America suffers while special interest steal our wealth like in Minn
Americans will continue to pay. Trump's inability to overcome his tariff addiction will significantly impact the midterms. There is no escape for Republicans.

... "For a consumer, it doesn't really matter what authority that the president calls on to impose the tariff," says Carola Binder, an economics professor at the The University of Texas at Austin School of Civic Leadership. "Some particular tariffs might go down. And so that would mean that prices of particular goods could go down, but the overall level would remain pretty high."
Goldman Sachs analysts seem to agree.
"We estimate that the further impact on consumer prices will be minor from here," the analysts wrote over the weekend, noting that the "bulk" of companies passing on extra tariff costs to consumers has already occurred.
Similarly, analysis from the Peterson Institute said tariff rates "are set to be similar overall to their level prior to the court ruling, so consumers will continue to feel this tax increase. Prices will likely be higher at the store because the longer tariffs last, in whatever form, the more their costs are passed through to consumers."

Inflation is slowing tariffs havent had much effect but they have reduced the annual deficit and will soon pay it off. When prices go up demand drops and prices drop as well. Wages are up and taxes down making a Americans more wealthy which offsets and small tariff increase

Public opinion does not reflect your hype.

Thats because many of Bidens policies havent been completely resolved and the media is distorting the facts. That will all change

Your dogmatic belief in your messiah is impervious to reason.

Demonizing Biden, the media, "libs", Black people, immigrants, etc., is obligatory.

And he's still lying about who pays the tariff. Tariffs are paid by the IMPORTING COMPANY at the Port of Entry before the shipment can be released.
Exactly, and like all attempts to levy "targeted taxes", they spread out. They get passed along, and otherwise compensated for, by others.

New Fed report on Trump’s tariffs confirms what most economists warned about

This has been proved by a recent research by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. "Nearly 90% of the economic burden is borne by American businesses and consumers

Research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation indicates that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, including those on China, the EU, Mexico, and Canada, cost the average U.S. household approximately $1,000 in 2025. This amount is projected to rise to $1,300 per household in 2026 if existing tariffs remain in place, with the costs primarily passed on to American consumers and businesses rather than foreign exporters.

and Trump announced this week that more tariffs are coming
The consumers should be paying for the tariffs. Why shouldn't they?

So you are willing to sacrifice your own pocketbook so that the Rich get richer, correct?
If people are keen to buy imports they should pay the tariffs. I'm way past worrying about the cost of things.

He has zero concept of (0) macroeconomics, including supply chains.

Which is exactly why he blew through the $400 million that Daddy gave him, later referring to himself as The King of Debt.

Because the power to tax doesn't exist so you can manipulate society toward your ends.
It's up the consumers to decide if they want to pay the higher prices. There's an old business maxim,

"Nothing happens (good or bad) until something gets sold."

Stand if you think the frst responsibility of government is to protect Americans not illegal aliens. Every democrat refused to stand.

When the rich get richer the rest of us do as well
When the government gets richer we all get poorer
When the rich get rich they need services by the middle class and create the growth ladder. Many in the MC become rich.
