Am i the only one who thinks it's GOOD the government shuts down?

If it was not for the Lame Stream Media no one would ever notice when it "shuts down".

The Government shutdown is planned so you don't notice

Unless you have a government contract, or problems with your Social Security, or have a VA claim, or are worried that the shutdown wasted $26 billion the last time

But God forbid a park shuts down
Or walking on public sidewalks because the Park Service pays overtime to its employees to block the sidewalks and roads to make everything as inconvenient as possible for taxpayers so we notice.

Unfortunately for you, parks are not considered "essential government services"
So you pay overtime to park employees to shutdown public streets and sidewalks so the public can't use them because government funding has ended.

Only in leftardia does that make sense.

You're not the only one, there's about 30% + or - of our citizens foolish enough to support the negative impact of such a stupid act.

What funding issue to you want to see solved? We might start by indicting members of the Trump Administration for embezzlement - remove them from office and make them pay restitution for their use of private and public aircraft; demanding that members of Congress work at least 11 months out of the year and not spend 1/2 of their time raising money for their next election

Why is that good?

What is gained by doing so?
Yes, great question. What is gained by the government paying overtime to close public areas from the taxpayers during a so called shutdown?

The shutdown itself. What is gained by it?

It doesn't make sense at all.
The downgrade has not a thing to do with borrowing. It increases the rate on the existing balance. It only costs us more to pay off the existing debt.

What benefit was gained in return for this?
We aren't paying off our debt all we are doing is servicing the debt.

If we were paying it off the balance wouldn't be going up by the second

Then address that problem . Shutting down the gov doesn't do that . It does the opposite !

If your personal finances are out of control do you fix it by just not paying bills for a while !?

The government still pays its bills during a "shut down" because the government is never 100% shut down during a so called shut down

Yeah. That's what we are debating. A true full shutdown would be a dangerous distaster .

These soft shut downs are stupid . When the gov gets back up all that missed work needs to be caught up. Meaning overtime .
It won't be a full shut down.

How retarded.

So, you want the Republicans to have a govt shutdown? To do what? To protest the fact that despite having complete control they are unable to formulate a budget of their liking?

The fact so little is lost and billions of tax dollars are gained, the only obvious conclusion is what?

That is a lie. Republicans can't orchestrate changing a toilet paper roll.

Liar.

During Barack Obama's presidency, the United States federal government shutdown of 2013ran from October 1 to 16, 2013. The primary issue of dispute between the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and the Democratic Senate was the Republicans' desire to delay or defund the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act(Obamacare), signed into law in 2010.[2] A bill to end the shutdown and fund federal agencies through January 15, 2014, passed the Senate and the House and was signed into law on October 17, 2013.[3] Standard & Poor's, the financial ratings agency, stated on October 16 that the shutdown had "to date has taken $24 billion out of the economy," and "shaved at least 0.6 percent off annualized fourth-quarter 2013 GDP growth.

dude, why? money is still being received from the taxes right? I mean where else would they be getting the money? Again, they are still taking my money from my paychecks, that doesn't stop? so why wouldn't they get their funds? what exactly stops?
If that money hasn't been appropriated, you fucking imbecile, with the government shut down because of a budget not being passed or any other mandatory budgetary provisions remaining unfulfilled, just how the fuck can there be any LAWFUL disbursement of those funds sans the lawful AUTHORITY under law? GAWD DAMN you fucking idiots must have a court appointed fiduciary controlling your funds with you being too fucking stupid and incompetent to take care of your own affairs by yourselves.
they haven't had a budget for over five years now. what the fk are you talking about? they've been playing kick the can. stop kicking the can. money is still there, bills are still coming in. you don't need a budget they've proven that.

What the fuck does one call a Continuing Resolution, the 'budget retread de jour', that's standing in for a proper budget...a NOT BUDGET?? You're too fucking stupid by double to understand how transparently inane that dodge defines your obfuscation. Your nothing but an ignorant gadfly on this forum, asshole. Off with thee and edify thy stupefied self!
so what difference does it make to let it run out? all of the continuing monies never run out now does it. so let it die and present a new budget. again, not in five years. stop spending what you don't have. let's have our representatives and senators respect the patrons of the states.

Quote me where I ever said I wanted a shut down or shut the fuck up.

Any shut down that happens will be unnoticeable to most people just like the last ones were
