One of the reason people like myself supported Trumps policies was it is critical that America remain solvent and this means dealing with debt, China and an open border, primarily. It is imperative to avoid WWIII.

He promised he would hit China with a 60% tariff and even more if necessary which is very popular not only in America but among those nations at risk from Chinas immense rise and military expansion. Is it possible that he has too many weak China-First people on his team? I hope not, because if so Trumps term will be impacted greatly and China will be firing missiles into Taiwan before the end of his term.

If he determines that it's easier to just punish Canada et al and let China skate away, it will destroy his legacy. His threat to confront China wasn't a weak and meager "10% more than current tariffs". That's chump change compared to their tactics that have gutted U.S industries.

He's going to impose 10% tariff on China. 25% on Canada and Mexico. Trump has 500 llc's. He does a lot of business in China.

Canada needs to start appreciating America more. Pay up. Pay your fair share. And stop talking shit about us. You're jealous. Not you. You are envious. But CANADA is jealous. Canada's birth rate has been declining for over a decade, and in 2023 it reached a new record low of 1.26 children per woman. This is well below the replacement level of around 2.1 children per woman.

Didn't have to be this way. We could be doing business as usual, which was really fucking good except for inflation and income inequality. Which Trump caused. Like when Obama had to clean up Bush's mess, sorry he didn't do it fast enough for your liking.

We do....lots of things are made in Mexico....cars and trucks, appliances, and bitumen distillates. (Candles, various fuels like sterno and oil) fertilizer and pesticide plants too.

Paper goods and ethanol are made in Brazil....lots of other agricultural products too. Argentina makes beef. Other countries make clothing. From bath robes to wash cloths.

We have a GLOBAL economy.
