The Supreme Court has rejected Infowars founder Alex Jones's appeal against a $1.4 billion defamation judgment brought by families of Sandy Hook school elementary shooting victims after he called the massacre a hoax.

"The Supreme Court properly rejected Jones’s latest desperate attempt to avoid accountability for the harm he has caused," Chris Mattei, an attorney with the firm Koskoff, who represents the families, said in a statement sent to Newsweek. "We look forward to enforcing the jury’s historic verdict and making Jones and Infowars pay for what they have done."

Jones must have known this case was a loser. He knew is was lying. HIs attempt at filing bankruptcy was an abject failure. Jones should just admit defeat and do the payout.

I have never been a fan of Alex Jones.

The fact that he labeled the Sandy Hook tragedy a “fraud” can be legitimately seen as defamatory and hurtful to the parents of the murdered students and other victims.

However, despite that, the outrageous award of such monumental monetary damages should still be subject to modification. But, it’s not like it will ever be paid or that it ever could be paid.

A revised award of damages would therefore have been appropriate. But it sure looks, now, like that will never happen.
