Filing something is not the same as signing your name to it. Dumbasses don't get the difference, but those of us who have actually worked in the real world do.Actually, the bill "would force" someone at the probate office to file the contract. It would save the homophobes like Davis from issuing anything. In short, the state would still be forced to accept gay marriage, and divorce courts would have to treat all equally. You misunderstand. Nobody gives a shit if homos get married. But we will not be FORCED to marry them or FORCED to endorse their marriages. This would change nothing, except that court clerks wouldn't sing marriage licenses. Gays still get married, and so do straights. Gays and straights get divorced in court, and child support and estate division gets ordered. This isn't victory for homophobes. Alabama would be saying "OK, we give up!" LOL
They can do whatever they want. They just can't make us participate. And we won't. And we haven't.
The bill failed, but I guess it'll pass in the next regular session.
