An Alabama man told deputies he was high on mushrooms after they found him inside his vehicle -- with a parrot on his shoulder and surrounded by several weapons.

The incident began with a call to dispatchers Friday from a homeowner on Elkcam Road in Washington County, southwest of Marianna, Fla.

The homeowner said a vehicle was outside the home and the driver was banging on their front door, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The homeowner asked the man to leave, but he remained. When deputies arrived, they found the suspect vehicle.

The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Timothy Brandon Bowers of Elba, Ala., was sitting inside with what deputies described as a “blank look on his face” and a parrot on his shoulder.

Bowers also had several weapons deputies could see inside the vehicle and Bowers at that point Bowers was asked to exit the vehicle.

According to the sheriff’s office, Bowers became uncooperative and combative, failing to follow deputies’ instructions and physically resisting arrest. He was ultimately tased and restrained by the deputies.

The parrot, meanwhile, was placed in a pet carrier and taken into custody by Washington County Animal Control.

Darn, I was hoping they found Koko B Ware!

And the officer said upon approaching the vehicle...."ARRRRRRR you coming peaceably??"

It's always Florida
From a local in the area:

Elkcam Rd is in a blighted housing development called Sunny Hills. They started to develop in the 70s and market to northerners who wanted a FL home.

When everyone realized they would still be an hour from the beach (PC or Destin) the game fell apart.

There are a few clusters of homes in that area with a whole lot of oak and pine woods around them.

No telling how long that guy was hanging around before stumbling into someone's front yard.
