Alabama and SEC Making NCAAF Boring

Alabama has some excellent academics. And one of the things Saban pushes is for his players to graduate. He has one of the highest graduation rates among the big schools. My son has a friend who was a "checker". He had a list of players that he would go around and verify they attended their classes. If they didn't, they had to go see Nick.

Smart. That means he keeps players longer rather than them going and playing if the Canadian football league or NFL.

But that's not the stuff I'm talking about. It was more about over recruiting and renigging on scholarships.

Anyways, I don't mind. If a student athlete doesn't work out after a year they shouldn't keep a 4 year scholarship

Alabama's never revoked a single scholarship under Saban. Everyone that wants to stay, does. Those that don't end up scholarship players at other schools....with the assistance of Alabama to find them. Everyone that gets a medical hardship...has a scholarship.

Yeah, we're smarter than you thought. We knew you can't over-recruit...cause there's rules about it.

I wish I had more details. Fact is we've lifted some regulation we've held against ourselves, probably because back then we were a union state. We treated are players better, even the ones that don't work out.

When is the last time Michigan or Michigan St. won an NCAA championship in football or basketball? Last year? Two years, I mean two great athletic programs must have won a basketball of football in the last five years. Right?

Michigan went down last night, so both your teams are out. MSU lost to a 15 seed. At least Alabama didn't get embarrassed on national TV. Doesn't matter what sport, MSU like getting thumped.
