May God keep President Trump safe.

These planes are getting old.

Air Force One made a sharp U-Turn while President Trump was heading to Davos for the World Economic Forum and returned to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland due to a 'a minor electrical issue.'

The president boarded Marine One at 9:18pm Tuesday night to fly to Joint Base Andrews before boarding Air Force One at 9:34pm. Air Force One departed for Davos, Switzerland at 9:46pm.

A pool reporter noted less than an hour into the trip that the lights in the press cabin went out briefly after takeoff but no explanation was offered.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made a joke on the flight about the jet Trump had been gifted by Qatar sounding 'much better' right now.

The two Boeing 747-200s that are currently in service date back to 1990 and 1991.

A US government motorcade was seen heading toward the Maryland base on Tuesday night.

The plane is expected to land at Joint Base Andrews at 11pm.

Air Force One just left Joint Base Andrews late on Tuesday night, carrying Trump in a red-eye flight to Switzerland for the World Economic Forum.

Damn it. I knew this would happen. They gave Wandering Joe a lift back home one time too many in his PJs. It was just inevitable that sooner or later, his nurse would forget the Imodium.

Thank God for the US Air Force, 305th Air Mobility Wing, which maintains Air Force One. There will be no Trump instigated international incidents in Davos, tomorrow.

Looks like an electrical issue where the Media sits.... Too many computers probably... but you still need to switch planes....
LOL Trump should fly in on his jet and really drive the libs nuts....

One airplane can only hold so much crap... er corruption.. I mean... um... people. PEOPLE! That's it! People!

"Air Force One make sharp U-turn" is probably code for Trump shitting his pants
More likely some minor electrical glitch with 2 or 3 backup systems still working, but you don't continue a 10 hour plus flight starting out over the ocean with known electrical problems and POTUS on board.

A jet that old should have its fuselage completely rewired. Cable harnesses are strung along walls and they vibrate and rub seams in the air-frame causing shorts. This is what did in Apollo 1--- a badly wired harness rubbed a sharp edge, shorted and ignited the pure oxygen inside the cabin.

Airforce One's pilot's famous last words upon taking Joe home on his final official flight...

There are B-52H bombers, delivered in 1962 still flying missions today. They are expecting the B-52H to be in service into 2050. Although, at this age, there probably isn't much of the original airframe, much less wiring still on any of these huge aircraft, whose typical missions exceed 10-12 hours per trip.

Military craft do not normally see the long continual use of commercial craft which escalates their higher duty cycle, also, being military designed, such things as wiring, etc., are more exposed for routine servicing and replacement.

Still, the president's jet is a modified 747 VC-25 which is operated at a cost like a military jet instead of for profit like a commercial liner.

<~~~~~~~~~~>
Indeed, the 747 experienced electrical problems where the reporter pool was located and AF1 returned.
AF#2 Just became AF#1 and Trump expects to be in Davos a little late...
