Or rather, sorta work. Go figure the old saying there's no cure for the "common cold" (Coronavirus). Yet in less than a year the world figured out they could with sweet magical vaccination. Or maybe not.
California's coronavirus strain is more transmissible than its predecessors, is more resistant to vaccines and may cause more severe cases of COVID-19.

The New Norm. Infinite “variations” of the WuFlu and no end to the lockdowns. These people want to destroy the middle class and nothing is going to stop them.
In the name of positivity, I have no other option but to look at the other side of the coin...in this case outcome possibility.
The sensationalistic media has done a good job rushing to get out half-truths and misinformation about necessary precautions to ward off the virus, mixing in with the best up-to the-minute guesses going on with WHO, CDC, and Dr. Fauci as continued spokesperson. I will say that most are doing the best they can, but that's not good enough and does not appear to be transparent enough for my tastes either.
Jumping to get the first vaccine sounds suspect at best, considering these orgs are well aware of these various mutations. Of course we're hearing that some vaccines might work for variations as well...but not all variations...and even the strains considered to be a variation is not confirmed by all experts due to limited number mutations...there should be a specific number prior to qualification (16 I think I've read?) as a true variant to have occurred thus many are questioning this element of the argument.
I'm counting on more and more people, average citizens, to be motivated enough to do their own leg-work to become educated using the exact tool we're utilizing to communicate. When more people read about the scientific outcomes for specific vaccinations, and learn so much more than they can from listening to a middle man who gives you their interpretation, information will explode and the best part is that it is about as accurate as one can get. There is always the potential for corruption, even within expert communities but they can be ruled out once comparative studies come into play.
Science Magazine and other specialty type of news sources have released many of their 2020 papers for free. It is interesting to compare these studies, and the best part for me is avoiding the middlemen and their ever-changing statements...one can be a lot more informed than what the national media puts out.
Long-term lockdowns are not an option for the American people. IF and when they even hint at such a suggestion, the government's spokespeople will be quickly replaced for letting that slip, and the current administration will be blamed for 100% of the fallout. They are already being blamed of course, but that blame will amplify 1000-fold.
