After this...

After this, after I saw the service, how Ericka conquered sorrow itself to deliver a message of forgiveness, how she pleaded for unity, I couldn't take it anymore. I am a conservative, but a political atheist. I don't believe in a two-party system; however, I find that my views constantly draw the ire of the political left. The same political left that spawned the assassin who killed Charlie Kirk. After what has transpired, I have been radicalized. I find that this is a battle I cannot avoid. I don't go looking for a battle to fight, but I feel this battle has found me. I feel, as a conservative, something stirring within me. I want to fight back in my own way, conquer this senseless violence with the gifts I have been given. Not with fists or guns, but with speech and intelligence. With raw facts and reality. With brains, not brawn.

All I ever wanted for America was for her citizens to get along, but I fear that time may have long since passed. Can I be a political pacifist anymore? Can I sit idly by while others fight for their beliefs in the political arena? I feel like I can no longer run from this anymore.

The old saying goes: "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war." Though I wouldn't qualify this as a war... yet. I never wanted to be anyone's enemy, but on the left, they insist on making me one. So be it. If they wish to wage a political fight, one done with words instead of bullets, so be it. I am here. The gauntlet is thrown.

After this, there can be given no quarter to those who insist on violence to quell the speech of those they disagree with. I will be as Charlie was, a challenger, a debater, and a God fearing conservative.

May God rest your soul, Charlie.

Don't rip yourself up over this, bro. You're a moderator and a damned good one. As as such, you're supposed to be emotionally-detached from all the bullshit flying around on here.

Oh I'm not. But I still have my own views, and this stuff affects me just the same as you.

And thank you for the compliment. You're right. I'm still new at this, so I'm sure that detachment will come with time.

I think one of the most important skills people can obtain is objectivity. Everyone seems to think that every issue involves a good guy vs. a bad guy and they must choose a side and devote their life, sometimes literally, to the battle. The truth is most conflicts are between two bad guys. And each bad guy uses propaganda to paint themselves as the good guy and the opponent as the bad guy. That being said, we have two really bad political parties. Both parties are full of really bad, corrupt people. Both parties use propaganda to divide the people and keep them in perpetual conflict. That is why we are forced to vote for the lesser of two evils at the voting booth. Your new role will not be easy. I wish you luck.

The only real "bad guys" on this forum are the ones who refuse to debate facts.

They just type partisan lies all day and ignore the post they are replying to, or they lie bout it.

This forum just highlights the vast political, societal, and religious differences between republicans and democrats, knowing that no one will ever be converted to the opposition.

They have no idea what they have unleashed. None.

The number of people who post regularly on this board and sincerely want communication, collaboration and innovation by our "leaders" is in the single digits. Low to mid single digits. The rest are essentially caricatures -- although, admittedly, that population in the country appears to be growing rapidly.

Mac, forever sowing division, forever crying about it and pretending he's above it

I have had an awareness for quite some time that if I have a certain thought or especially a reaction. . . Somebody somewhere is having the same to an even greater extreme.

With that in mind, I think it's only a matter of time and opportunity now, before someone acts on in and takes what they feel is revenge.

Politicians and Americans used to debate policy and ideas, before the Left decided to launch their Woke Culture War. Then, if you didn't agree, you weren't just misinformed or wrong; you were EVIL and IMMORAL. See: racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, etc. THEY launched this war and, now that they're losing badly, THEY want "unity".

No.

Utter defeat, with them wandering in the figurative desert for 40 years, is the only way.

I'm not talking about anything like a singular lunatic being violent. I'm not talking about violence at all.

I'm talking about what is actually happening: a cultural revolution

I'm talking about both then.

Only enemies of the Republic seek to increase the disunity. Only such enemies encourage more violence.
Only the blind put the entire onus on one or the other side of this ridiculous binary political fascination in America. The ingenuity that made the nation great has to be capable of better than this handicapping limitation. It is impossible to unify those two dualistic camps. We could well unify an a fresh effort and original ideas.

Well, you'll find that those people who are most sensible are the ones who try and find the most neutral path. Who look at the evidence and come to a logical conclusion.

There are a few on this board like this, and none of them are MAGA. Why do you think that is?
1) Please define MAGA. It seems to be used as an insult.

2) “Neutral” is a shifting measure. As the radical left kidnapped the Party - delegitimizing decent people who disagree with them, siding with Islamic terrorists over Jews and illegal aliens over law-abiding citizens, calling people “racist” if they object to admissioms and hiring decisions with race as the primary factor, etc. - anyone who is somewhat right of center, as am I, is viewed (or worse, considered) as a MAGA alt-right who is a “threat to democracy.”

Beautifully expressed.

To be honest, the division already exists. I feel people like me have been pushed away, by the extremists on your side of the aisle. And what have you done to stop them (not you personally, the people you voted for)?

When the House voted to condemn the assassination, 58 Democrats voted against it. The Democratic Party does not have the courage to bring its extremist element to heel. And they will continue with their extremist behavior until another Charlie Kirk dies, or another right-wing figure is targeted for death.

I don't revel in the division. I speak against it. But I feel I have been made a reluctant warrior. One who must fight even when he doesn't want to.

Proportional representation does very little when there are those being targeted for speaking their minds. How do you represent someone you seek to silence?
Aww look at you pretending the Neo-GOP isn't controlled to a large extent by the Mega Extreme, aka the Rush Limbaugh arm of the Party. The Rabid right extreme is just as culpable, if not more so, than the Loonie left. Which side is more culpable? Well that's debatable. That they're both part of the same on going problem, is not.
