Actual AP headline: “Illegal immigrants plan to leave over Ariz. law”

The Arizona law will be a net economic gain for AZ. More AZ citizens will find useful employment there, the state's cost of government and public services will be decreased. Since the illegals import no real wealth, the economic activity of the illegals will be transferred from them to AZ citizens. A lot of the cross border immigration will attempt to find other access for crossing, but less so into Arizona.

Meanwhile many of the illegals already in AZ will move across state lines into California because of the magnet of an implied welcome mat. There (in CA) the burden from the same problem is already overwhelming its state treasury, economy, and public services of all types.

This single action by AZ could create a crisis in California, and in the pro-illegal immigrant community. I would expect some violence to be imported into AZ from California and like minded "precincts."

Arizona needs to hold fast; this may be the turning point in the illegal immigration saga, or it will be quashed by the Obama administration.

I wonder if the racists are aware of how much money hispanics bring into the economy in AZ and just how much money they make off of trade with Mexico. :eusa_whistle:

Illegals don't come here to spend their own money.

If all the hispanics leave, we'll just invite all the disenfranchised Whites from the rest of the country to come enjoy it.

'wonder if the racists are aware of how much money hispanics bring into the economy in AZ and just how much money they make off of trade with Mexico.'

I wonder if you liberal bleeding hearts know anything. Illegals use up more of our tax dollars than they pay. They suck up all the funds put in place for citizens of this country and those LEGALLY here! Trade with Mexico will not change due to upholding our immigration laws - Mexico would collapse if it were so. BTW, we are not talking about hispanics - the problem is the illegals - and they come from ALL countries so stop your pandering.

'I wonder what California's new unemployment rate is going to be?'

CA should be the one to put the military at the CA/AZ border.

Arizona isn't trying to get rid of hispanics, it's the ILLEGALS they're worried about. The ones trafficing people and drugs. 70% of the Arizona population agrees with this law, looking at the demographics
According to the 2005-2007 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, White Americans made up 59.6% of Arizona's population. Hispanics and Latinos (of any race) made up 29.0% of Arizona's population.
The hispanics must also like the law.

This law has nothing to do with race, it has everything to do with FOLLOWING THE LAWS OF THIS COUNTRY.

CA is too cowardly to follow AZ. Besides, it's a welfare state and bankrupt but won't admit the reasons why.

I would not count on CA. doing anything like Arizona at all , this is the state that has brought you our new example of healthcare reform and is also the model for the impending cap and trade bill. This is a state because they cannot manage their own house that has done such things as the following,

There's not been a greater escape since Steve McQueen jumped aboard his motorcycle. The state of California has been ordered to release more than 55,000 prison inmates to ease pressure on its ailing penal system.

In hosting America's largest population of illegal immigrants, California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year.

04-22) 18:56 PDT — 2007-04-22 18:56:09 PDT -- Mayor Gavin Newsom vowed Sunday to maintain San Francisco as a sanctuary for immigrants and do everything he can to discourage federal authorities from conducting immigration raids.

The mayor cannot stop federal authorities from making arrests, Newsom told about 300 mostly Latino members of St. Peter's Church and other religious groups supporting immigrants. But no San Francisco employee will help with immigration enforcement

Just a little comment here, CA. is a beautiful state with many rich resources , but is a disaster in terms of how it is managed and has been for some time as is ours. So when CA. talks of how Arizona should do things perhaps the state that has the most problems should look to get its own house in order before making suggestions on other states as to how they should manage thiers. So do not look for CA. to install legislation anywhere close to Arizona's and continue to face massive budget deficits all in the name of not enforcing the law.

CA is cowardly and clueless.........just like the man they helped put in the office of president.

Many day laborers like Diaz say they will leave Arizona because of the law, which also makes it a crime to be in the U.S. illegally and directs police to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants…

An estimated 100,000 illegal immigrants have left Arizona in the past two years as it cracked down on illegal immigration and its economy was especially hard hit by the Great Recession. A Department of Homeland Security report on illegal immigrants estimates Arizona’s illegal immigrant population peaked in 2008 at 560,000, and a year later dipped to 460,000.

The law’s supporters hope the departure of illegal immigrants will help dismantle part of the underground economy here and create jobs for thousands of legal residents in a state with a 9.6 percent unemployment rate.

Hey Diaz - go to San Francisco! 460,000 unemployed non-citizens is just what California needs. They offer all kinds of free shit!

What are the white people going to do with they loose their maids, nannies, contruction workers, cooks, and agriculture workers? And last time I checked Arizona wasn't in great shape, what are they going to do when they loose all the money they generate for their economy?

A crime is a crime if the offense is punishable by prison time then so be it. What does it matter if its violent of non violent?

Does it really matter Luissa? the point here is that California 's budget is so bloated and over tasked they cannot afford even to house the non viloent convicts. The point is that those individuals had thier day in court and and were judged to have broken the law, regardless of the nature of the crime. If the law is such that someone disagree's with it , then change the law.

Stereotype much?

You think only illegal aliens are capable of doing those jobs? You do realize how racist you post is, don't you?

I wonder if the racists are aware of how much money hispanics bring into the economy in AZ and just how much money they make off of trade with Mexico. :eusa_whistle:

I wonder if you're aware of what that has to do with the law?

Enlighten me, please.

Mexican Nationals here illegally give themselves credit for everything positive about this country - but - blame the 'gringo' for anything negative. Go figure!
