What does "not enough evidence to prosecute" mean regarding a school shooter? Either they grabbed the wrong guy and should clear him or, or what?

The FBI under Trump is a totally bungling outfit. The Charlie Kirk shooter was turned in by a friend otherwise would still be at large. In both this shooting and that one, the head of the fbi, and the president sent out an errant tweet claiming the perp was captured and pat themselves on the back. Now we have the wrong dude arrested, released (again like the Kirk shooting) and zero leads (apparently).

On the other hand we can hope that they are lucky instead of good again and just wait for the kid to tell his roommate he did it now. What a shit show of a law enforcement organization since it was turned over to dipshits.

The guy was arrested by Federal Investigators according to Kash Patel. Seems to be going poorly. I hope they've made more progress we dont know about, which is possible, but reporting says they are back to square one - whatever that means.

My observation has been the investigations have been pretty bad so far. Got lucky with the Kirk shooting as the kid was turned in. This looks just as bad. I assume they'll get him, not really any examples I can think of where a school shooter got away.
