White House Staff - Senior Counselors

One consistent characteristic of, uh, "strong leaders" is that they often make the mistake of surrounding themselves with people who only tell the leader what they think the leader wants to hear.

The obvious danger is that the leader will be given incomplete and distorted information, and will then take decisions and actions that they should not take, which can lead to big mistakes.

What is your guess about the relationships Trump has with his various top advisors, and do you believe that he receives comprehensive, accurate & objective input, regardless of the situation?

General John Kelly

I'm sure Trump hates his guts because he didn't tell Trump just what he wanted to hear.

Yeah, there were quite a few advisors, staffers, generals and cabinet members who had some pretty negative things to say about him.

Second time around, he has been much more careful. I wonder what the dynamic around him is now.

He was so shocked to get loudly booed at MSG the other day he told a reporter after the game he thought he was mostly getting cheered. Perhaps because of the fawning praise he gets at cabinet meetings.

There's a scene in the great movie "Steve Jobs" when Jobs' assistant uses the term "reality distortion field" to explain why Jobs believed something that didn't happen.

It appears trump has turned twisting reality in to an art form. None of his aides dare to correct him.

What a remarkable display of shitlib logic.

In their world, a leader should surround himself with a lot of nay-sayers and obstructionists. Because that’s much more likely to help the leader accomplish his agenda and the policies he seeks.

I return you now to the shitlib conference circle jerk already in progress.

His advisers are "yes men" who are hardcore Zionists. They'll kiss his ring while advising him to put Israel first. They'll repeatedly tell him that he's a great man doing great things. Trump is an egoist and a narcissist who LOVES praise. He loves it almost as much as he loves money. Anyone who hints that he's making a mistake will earn his ire and be publicly humiliated by being called "dumb," or "low IQ," or a "traitor," or a "loser." Nobody on his staff wants to be branded as a low IQ, dumb traitorous loser, so they tell him what he wants to hear -- no matter what.

It truly is a sickening freak show but D.C. is nothing more than a circus. So I guess that's just the way it is.

That's EXACTLY what made me think of this. My guess is that the show we see at his Cabinet meetings is the same show we'd see every day in the Oval Office and at Mar-A-Lago.

I'd guess they're telling him there were only a few boos, and it only sounded like boos because of the building acoustics, something like that. And he'll absolutely internalize that.

OMG.

I just read a rare and elusive post where Saxon Fraction managed to use the word “Zionist.”

Snag this one for your collection of rarities.

If that was true, the way politicians change their views it is very possible they will not Zionists if the political winds change. Either way, as citizens we walk a tight rope on who we support and who we do not. And all of it can be called hate by the promoters.

I don't think there should be "winds of change." The Constitution is basically "written in stone." No President can go wrong when they stick to the Constitution and read and understand the will and vision of our Founding Fathers. They all need to stop appealing to the highest bidder and start putting America First in all things. That's their primary job.

Trump knows nothing, most of the people surrounding him know even less, and if they know more, they won't contradict Trump, only agree with whatever he says.

It's a very dangerous combination, as history has shown us.

And let's not forget General Kelly had a book out and made the rounds on all the leftwing shows trashing Trump. Amazing how all that goes hand in hand.

Wow. How do you know this? Are you connected to one or more of the channels in DC?

Thanks for the disclaimer. We all know you are above posting something political aka left vs right. You just want to get at the truth about President Trump. All your posts are very objective about him and his supporters. I am grateful this forum has someone so high and objective as you.
