The Alien and Sedition Acts were a set of four laws enacted in 1798 that applies restrictions to immigration and speech in the United States. It is still a law on the books and therefore has just as much authority as any law past yesterday. "The Naturalization Act of 1798 increased requirements to seek citizenship, the Alien Friends Act of 1798 allowed the President to imprison and deport non-citizens, the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 gave the President additional powers to detain non-citizens during times of war, invasion, or predatory incursion."
Three Presidents, Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman have used these Acts to detain and remove non-citizens. All three are Democrats. Now that a Republican President is using the act to rid our country of those made foreign terrorist persons of terrorist groups, the woke Democrats are objecting? Objecting what? The Law? Are you rejecting the Law?

Look at the bottom. It says April 16th, 1918, not 1798. Also, highlighted, it says "any foreign nation OR government , OR and invasion or predatory incursion. This is simple. The word "or" means that it doesn't have to be a foreign nation or a foreign government. #1 You know that the way laws are coded over time has changed right? So the dates can reflect the conversion.

#2 You just dishonestly chopped the quote. What it says is "or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted, or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government,".

You left off that it had to be a foreign nation or government. A criminal gang, even one designated as a terroristg organization, is not a foreign nation or government.
