According to what I read, the best that doctors can estimate early fetal age is plus or minus 5 to 7 days. This makes the 10 year old rape victim story even more suspicious. Dr. Bernard made it a point of emphasis that the fetal age was exactly 6 weeks and 3 days which is not possible with today's measurement tools. Furthermore, the abortion law in Ohio does not stipulate a "6 week" fetal age limit, it is based on detectable fetal heartbeat which roughly coincides with 6 weeks fetal age. And lastly, a 10 year old would certainly qualify for an exception due to possible life threatening delivery. It would appear that this impossibly accurate fetal age was presented to create a false sense of urgency. The following is from a simple Google Search. Please provide any evidence to the contrary.
+/- 5 to 7 days
When the crown-rump length exceeds 84 mm (approximately 14 weeks and 0/7 days), the accuracy decreases, and full fetal biometry should be used to approximate the gestational age[1]. First-trimester ultrasound has an accuracy of +/- 5 to 7 days[1].Dec 16, 2021
