Defending China was attacking Japan?

I think you have that backwards. Nagasaki was the 2nd attack.Well, we did attack Nagasaki with a terrible weapon. Whether the second nuclear attack on Japan was justified is the question.
Not the point. Hawaii was an American territory with a U.S. naval base. Attack the U.S. naval base, you will eventually be attacked by the U.S.A territory is the same as a state?
It's a question based on a prior statement of "same thing."Not the point. ...
Yeah but, it was also stated that the Japanese attacked an American harbor. It doesn't really matter where that harbor is. America will retaliate. At least that is my thought. It's a question based on a prior statement of "same thing."
Not harbor, naval base.Yeah but, it was also stated that the Japanese attacked an American harbor. ....
Obviously to be expected....America will retaliate. At least that is my thought.
Yes, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, created subsequent to the 'Newlands Resolution of 1898 which created the Territory of Hawaii in 1900. At the time King Kalakaua was secretly meeting with the Japanese Emperor to discuss a treaty for protection. He wanted to unite the two nations. Japan rejected it and then, McKinely put an end to that with the Newlands Resolution. It was most certainly an American Territory and Japan was attacking America. Not harbor, naval base.
it is a US possession just like a state is. The US is sworn to protect it the same as any state. It's a question based on a prior statement of "same thing."
Wrong on both accounts. First, Hawaii was territory, hence American property just like a state. When California was a territory, it was funneling millions of dollars of gold into the US treasury, While Colorado was a territory it was funneling millions of dollars of silver and gold into the US treasury. Second, the American Volunteer Group flew aircraft that lacked the range to attack China from ANY part of mainland China. Its combat radius was about 250 miles on internal fuel. The AVG also didn't see combat until AFTER Pearl Harbor and then from Rangoon Burma in support of the British.Hawaii was not then a state. The Americans took US fighter planes to China to attack Japan.
Flying Tigers
Group of American military pilots who flew for the Republic of China Air Force in 1941-42
The First American Volunteer Group of the Republic of China Air Force, nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was formed to help oppose the Japanese invasion of China. Operating in 1941–1942, it was composed of pilots from the United States Army Air Corps, Navy, and Marine Corps, and was commanded by Claire Lee Chennault. Their Curtiss P-40B Warhawk aircraft, marked with Chinese colors, flew under American control. Wikipedia

In terms of sovereignty, yes.A territory is the same as a state?
The AVG wasn't a US formation. The members were mercenaries paid and equipped by the Chinese government. FDR had to get a special law covertly passed to allow US military personnel to resign and fight for China without legal penalties. The Americans fighting for the UK had to covertly travel to Canada join the RCAF and then travel under Canadian passports or be arrested for violating the Neutrality Act. After the war started, the US government just ignored their illegal pre-war actions and incorporated the Eagle Squadrons into the 8th Air Force.China was US territory? Wow.
UHHHH, Pearl HARBOR.Not harbor, naval base.
FDR was very well informed about the Flying Tigers and off the book, he approved them since they needed actual US combat war planes. And they had a wonderful unbeaten record against the Japs. Now all the Japs knew was American war planes were killing Japs easily. Shit happens in war, and our flying tigers were attacking Japs as soon as possible.Wrong on both accounts. First, Hawaii was territory, hence American property just like a state. When California was a territory, it was funneling millions of dollars of gold into the US treasury, While Colorado was a territory it was funneling millions of dollars of silver and gold into the US treasury. Society tells us that the nuclear attack ended the war. Is there any doubt? The Allies were bombing mainland Japan virtually unopposed before the Atomic bombs. It sounds like a defeat. Why don't you accept history instead of throwing out insults?Yes it’s true. Numerous high level military officers have told you repeatedly the A bombings didn’t end the war. They also told you the bombings were entirely unnecessary, as Japan was a defeated and defenseless nation.
Be a man for once and accept the truth.
Every P40 was American, and all pilots were Americans. Why demean them? The AVG wasn't a US formation. The members were mercenaries paid and equipped by the Chinese government. FDR had to get a special law covertly passed to allow US military personnel to resign and fight for China without legal penalties. The Americans fighting for the UK had to covertly travel to Canada join the RCAF and then travel under Canadian passports or be arrested for violating the Neutrality Act. Oh, so there is NO difference?it is a US possession just like a state is. ...
"Society"?Society tells us that the nuclear attack ended the war. I...
So good you had to post it twice!Saipan was considered Japanese soil by the Japanese as was Okinawa
"Just like"? So, no difference at all? Interesting..... Hawaii was territory, hence American property just like a state. ...
