If she didn’t get lifetime benefits of being a female black, she would have gone to some third-rate law school (if that) and be working in some obscure government role.

But now the country is stuck with her.

1,2,3, and 29 went to Harvard.

We did not interact. I do not think I had her in any classes. I was a jock, she was one of those involved in all the fruity shit.

But, she was well liked and respected as I recall.

We had some Venn diagram circle of friends that crossed over, but I dont think I ever said a word to her, the class was like 750 kids.

Kinda cool to have a SCOTUS classmate. I just wish she was one of the good guys!
Yes I've read KBJ's bio and it is pretty darn impressive. Based on that alone, I can't say she was unqualified to be on the high court.

It is being so 'woke' it takes away all judicial prudence and common sense that is KBJ's problem.

Same here though I wasn't working in higher education admissions. But I had first hand experience with DEI hiring. And it almost never turned out well.

As her classmate expressed though, KBJ may not have always been 'woke'. I know so many people who were not when younger, but came to be that way when they were older and subjected to heavy peer pressure. Religious seminaries are notorious for creating that kind of mentality.

So I can't in good conscience judge her experience and credentials as I don't know. But I can certainly see that she has become a 'woke' puppet of that particular mentality and that compromises her ability to think critically and competently as a judge and/or requires her to be intellectually dishonest.

Anyone can write a Concurring or Dissenting Opinion. Sotomayor wrote one in this case. Kagan and Brown joined in that opinion (they agreed with the opinion). Neither Sotomayor nor Kagen joined in Brown's Dissent.
So her opinion was so bad not even her two cohorts would sign on.

That's not what Kagan said in 2022. She said exactly what we all know to be true...a lower court judge shouldn't have the authority to issue nationwide injunctions.

What happened between 2022 and 2025? I'll give you a hint. It starts with an E and ends with lection. And suddenly Kagan 'believes' the exact opposite.

Most sane people don’t think much about conservative side of the SC.

On the contrary, Jackson laments the imperial presidency Barrett's decision gives to the executive while decrying the notion only the conservatives on the SC feel empowered to act as a check on facially unconstitutional orders that strip Americans of their rights.

Clarence has rightly been regarded as an extremist outlier until he was joined by other extremists. Now people recognize he feels entitled to be a grifter because his opinion is he's been under compensated all these years for carrying the water for conservative causes. Along with Ginny they make quite a corrupt couple.
