Zone1 about those nicotine disolvables..

Warfan WTF is this?

How is this related to your OP?

Why do you think nicotine is addictive when the evidence proves otherwise?
apologies for going off-topic there for a while, but I do most of my geopolitical idea generating on x.com now, and that's also where I keep the public informed about my software development efforts, which will before Christmas this year see the news app (in my signature here) revived.

And the evidence that nicotine is addive i find in smoking, among friends who smoked, and the fact that disolvables do nothing to help quit nicotine. Once you start, just see the advantages of it and live with the (preferably reasonable) monetary cost of it. You'd spend it on something else anyhow if you didn't use nicotine you know.

Lol. You must know that’s not evidence. They are plenty of scientific studies showing nicotine isn’t addictive. This doesn’t mean cigarette smoking isn’t addictive. As you must know, cigarette smoke contains a multitude of substances some of which may be addictive.

Warfan WTF is this?

How is this related to your OP? Blood pressure and dizzy spells

Why do you think nicotine is addictive when the evidence proves otherwise?
I think it's addictive because I used to smoke 2-1/2 to 3 packs a day. After trying to quit, tired of dealing with fast heartbeat, high blood pressure and dizzy spells I found that nicotine was certainly addictive. Patches, lozenges, gum, I'll take it all and still smoke.

One of my employees got a high nicotine vape pen for his birthday and didn't like it. He gave it to me. That was my last cigarette. Never even wanted one. Over time I reduced the nic content to zero. Then I just quit vaping. My pen broke and a replacement was too expensive.

You just have to do the research and never believe what the establishment tells you until it’s confirmed from independent non-corrupt sources.

Nicotine Not Addictive

Nicotine has been the subject of various studies that have challenged the conventional understanding of its addictive properties. A 2015 Harvard study initially aimed to investigate the addictive properties of nicotine but found that nicotine itself may not be inherently addictive.2 The study suggested that the addictive nature of cigarettes could be attributed to other chemicals, such as pyrazines, which are added to enhance flavor and optimize nicotine delivery.2These additives may play a significant role in making cigarettes more attractive and addictive.2

Another study highlighted that nicotine, when considered in isolation, may not be as addictive as previously thought. Research indicates that nicotine's addictiveness can depend on how it is administered and the context in which it is used.6 For instance, nicotine delivered through non-combustible methods, such as patches or gum, may have a lower risk of dependence compared to smoking.6

However, it is important to note that while nicotine may not be as addictive as some other substances, it is still considered addictive. Studies have shown that nicotine can lead to dependence, particularly when it is inhaled through smoking.8 The addictive potential of nicotine can also be influenced by other factors, such as the presence of other chemicals in tobacco smoke, which may enhance its effects.7

In summary, while some studies suggest that nicotine may not be as addictive as traditionally believed, the overall consensus remains that it is still a substance with addictive properties, especially when combined with other factors present in tobacco products.

Nicotine is also being studied for its positive effects on Parkinson’s, Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

That only shows smoking is addictive. There is more in cigarettes than tobacco

I will concede that those of us who smoke real cigars (as in 100% tobacco) are no where near as addicted to them as cigarette smokers.

And I chewed tobacco since I was a teenager and only quit that a few years ago.

They definitely add chemicals to the chewable stuff, and I found that extremely difficult to give up, while I can go days without a cigar without feeling any real addictive need for one. And the cigars I smoke are usually ligero leaf which are real nicotine bombs.

So I’ll admit you probably have a point about the addictiveness coming more from the added chemicals in cigarettes/chew than from the tobacco/nicotine itself

As a heavy smoker, near chain-smoker even, I would be needing the 4mg variety,

Nicotine dissolubles? Son, why do you want to play with any of that? Here, be a man, and just break off a piece of this, stick it in your mouth and suck:

Probably the most incorrect statement I’ve ever read on this site. And that’s saying something.
Get informed.

From your provided link:

No. That is not stated in the Harvard study.

If never run across a single human being addicted to eggplant or tomatoes.

You?
No. But chocolate, surgar, yeah. Obviously you have never seen anyone eating frosting out of the can. Nicotine is addictive. It is addictive in all of its forms. Yes, it is true, that it also has medicinal qualities. It can help with concentration, memory. Ear aches! But, it is still addictive. Sometimes, even today, I get to wanting a cigarette. I use menthol cough drops, it helps.

You dodged the question. If nicotine is so very addictive, then why don’t people who consume Eggplant and tomatoes, both of which contain nicotine, need eggplant or tomatoes fixes?

And why aren’t people who are trying not to smoke, advised against eating them?

Hmmmmmm, maybe it not the nicotine?

No. That is not stated in the Harvard study.
It’s obviously addictive to some extent.

As I said earlier, you do have a point that the chemicals they add to certain tobacco products like cigarettes is more addictive than the natural occurring nicotine in tobacco leaves.

But nicotine its self is addictive on its own an extent. Obviously

Then how does nicotine gum calm the cravings of people trying to quit smoking?

The Harvard study indicates it’s not additive, which is why I posted it.
The copy/paste text you posted does say its addictive.

From the Harvard Study itself:

Therefore, current models of tobacco product abuse potential recognise nicotine as the primary drug of addiction, and that
non-nicotine tobacco constituents and sensory stimuli from packaging and environmental cues also contribute to tobacco dependence.
