The cops were inadequate to handle it, that’s true. The cops didn’t think that they would have to face such a large crowd of violent Trump supporters. Very few people thought that would happen.

As for the national guard, it’s pretty suspicious that the guy trying to steal the election would want an army that is solely responsible to him to be present that day.

Like children, they only become violent when they don’t get what they want.

Their delusional belief in a stolen election doesn’t justify violence.
