A Very Disappointing "Debate" - My 2c Worth

Trump has a point. Bidumb had 47 years and nothing to show for it. He pounded that message down!
What did trump do in the last 47 years?
  • Inherited $300 Million from daddy.
  • Blew every cent.
  • Lost over $1 Billion
  • Now owes $421 Million in personal loans
  • Opened up 2 casinos to compete with his first. All went broke.
  • Can’t get a gaming license in Vegas because of corruption.
  • Raped his first wife.
  • Bragged about his mistress while still married to Wife #1.
  • Became a Russian useful idiot in 1988.

Shall I continue?

By that standard Biden should be under the jail....

The mod was almost non biased and I was surprised. I'd let her rub my back.

Our choices this time suck as much as 2016, no surprise considering who is running the show.
Who is running your show? Pelosi?
No, why should she?
Then who are you blaming for your democrat choice?
I don't have a democrat choice. I myself run myself and my own show.
Why are you dodging the question? Let me remind your stupid ass what you said.

"Our choices this time suck as much as 2016, no surprise considering who is running the show."

So who are you blaming for your sucky choice?

Link it! Prove it, stuff it.

For the undecided and even the long-ago decided, this debate demonstrated rather poignantly that neither candidate is very intelligent or quick on his figurative feet. They both flailed at huge softball issues when any reasonably well informed citizen could have hit them out of the park. A few examples from my notes:

  • To JB: Nobody goes to prison for "being an addict," especially when you are talking about FEDERAL crimes and prosecution. You "go to jail" if (a) you are a dealer,(b) you commit crimes related to your drug activities, or (c) you are in possession of a quantity of controlled substances that indicate they are definitely not for personal consumption, hence (a) you are a dealer. Biden's many claims that people are in Federal prison for being addicts is simply false, and he should know that it's false.
  • From DJT: The 500+ little Hispanic yoots whose parents are still in the wind CAME HERE WITH PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT THEIR PARENTS! That's why their parents have not been located. And they are all safely and happily with Hispanic foster families and NOT IN CAGES ANYWHERE!
  • For DJT: Biden's claim to "have a plan" for CV mitigation is preposterous. It is axiomatic in war that all the planning goes out the window the minute the first shot is fired. And so it has been with CV-19. The "experts" have changed their minds weekly as the pandemic rolled out, treatment modes have proven effective or otherwise, and the characteristics of the spread of the disease have become known.
  • Why [the fuck] can't the President just say that he has tried to balance the need for precautions against further spread of the disease with the need to keep the economy moving forward, and that shutting down the economy as Biden suggests should have done would have put us in a DEPRESSION?
  • There never was a "Muslim ban." The proof of this is that the most populous Muslim countries were not involved.
  • Why will Biden not own up to his support of the Federal Crime bill in the 90's and point out that THE CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS was fully on board with the bill? Are they all racists?
  • Trump's "defense" of his non-payment of FIT was preposterous, especially considering that he and his minions have had WEEKS to come up with something. Why wouldn't he just say that he has paid tens of millions in FIT over the course of his business career, and he makes no apologies for taking advantage of tax provisions that are intended to benefit investors and developers like him? And his statement that he will release his tax returns after the audit is complete????? Who came up with this gem? It just gives more ammunition to those who say he is an inveterate liar.
  • The Hunter Biden-Computer issue was bungled on both sides. From Trump's viewpoint, his only point should have been that the FBI needs to ascertain (1) whether the computer actually belonged to Hunter Biden, and (2) if the files have been modified or corrupted; if not, the the entire Biden family is a criminal enterprise. Biden's "defense" was ridiculous. Nothing unethical? Taking millions in exchange for access to your father is not unethical? Fails the laugh test.
  • Trump should have jumped on Biden's admission that he wants to naturalize the "eleven million" illegals, and point out that the Census Bureau now indicates that the number is 23 million. This admission was a potential goldmine for Trump and he just let it fly by.
So although I will enthusiastically and frequently vote for Our Beloved President this year, as I did in '16, I share the disappointment of the millions and millions of Americans who, if it were possible and meaningful, would vote NOTA* in this election.

*None Of The Above

There are several things that you are wrong on.

Voters support DACA and a a path to citizenship for illegals by large margins.

There is no evidence of anything unethical. There is no evidence any officer of Burisma gained access to Biden. Also Burisma was a factor in the decision to issue a ultimatum to Ukraine. Either fire a corrupt prosecutor or no American economic aid. You are the laughable one.

The experts have not changed their minds weekly as you claim. The guidance has been cautious recognizing that there are many unknowns. Trump has been touting miracle cures for the coronavirus.

Biden has not said he would shut down the economy. He has said he would listen to what the doctors are saying. Doctors who have a clue what they are talking about unlike a radiologist who thinks he has a clue what is going on.

What I saw from Biden was a man on that stage that is losing his grip on cognative ability to put thoughts together...He stumbled throughout the night on answers, not strong at all...Not only that, but his corruption involving his family, and now reported to have had to kick back to him was glaringly true, as evidenced by Biden's tells like laughing when hit with these charges instead of answering what the hell is going on there...

I sat there thinking of all that the President was able to get done in the past 4 years, against an impressive resistence movement within the Congress...Biden wouldn't be able, in his current mental status, to withstand that type of constant attack, let alone get anything done....As evidenced by his answer on one of the exchanges about why he didn't do anything while a sitting VP, he said he was up against a Republican congress...Really? Bull Shit...

I saw a sitting President that was in command of the issues, and a challenger that was barely able to get his thoughts out coherently, and a challenger that is under fire, and a possible black mail threat that is this feeble...Joe should have taken his retirement, and thanked his lucky stars that he was able to graft the American people for as long as he did...

You are the one who is clueless. Trump had no clue what he was talking about. The debate was a draw.

Sorry, I don't see it that way. But, I also don't think it'll move the needle much either.

I wasn't interested in style points and so I listened to both debates on radio to concentrate on substance. I tuned out just after an hour of listening last night, the continued lack of content was more than I could stand.

And?

all true----the "debate" itself lacked content----the best that can be said is-----it was "civilized"

AND I did not learn where Trump plans to find the money to replace his planned payroll tax elimination. Nor how each would demand fiscal responsibility from Congress. Not that I was surprised. After the cancellation of the 2nd debate I fell back on my usual stance of tossing the bums out and mailed my ballot.

Doubtful that it made a difference, despite all the predictable partisan claims of victory.

Biden, openly saying he intends to shut down the Oil Industry makes no difference ?
I just have to laugh at that one.

That would roughly equate to a 3000ft asteroid hitting Earth at 35,000 mph as far as the impact on humanity.

You people are so desperate to defend despots that it's humorous.

Believe me...I would say the exact same if trump said such foolish things.

A Very Disappointing "Debate"

You know, DGS, I really can't argue with that. Both candidates said stuff not true. Both have questionable history and character flaws. None of these debates or town halls do justice to the voter's needs and intellect.

THAT SAID,

YOU SHOULDN'T LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH.

Considering what the Democrats are trying to serve up, you have a president who:
  1. Isn't part of the Washington machine; he grew up creating his own wealth for himself and others instead of sucking the taxpayer dry.
  2. He's for the people and the country, not the global elite.
  3. He's a true capitalist.
  4. He's generally pro-constitutional, pro-religion, and pro-tradition and morality.
  5. He's busting his ass on trying to rid us of Covid while fighting to keep jobs and business afloat, kids in school and the country working.
  6. He's done great on jobs and the economy.
  7. He's helped level trade.
  8. He's killed a mountain of regulatory crap and appointed a zillion judges.
  9. He's put the brakes on climate insanity.
  10. And someday, he will be recognized as having done wonders for many long-standing foreign problems that would be front page news with parades if he had been a democrat.

Joe Biden is a political whore. It makes no difference what he says. His job for the past 48 years has been to get elected. Just like a college athlete majoring in eligibility. Had DE been mostly republican in 1972, Biden would be a republican.
Biden is under the thumb of anti-American Marxism. If elected, our country will cease to exist. Our economy will be a dependent-ridden shambles with a batch of Hugo Chavez’s at the top.
Trump speaks to energy independence and the robust economy that delivers. Trump doesn’t pander to the various segregation groups that dems thrive on and Trump kills the bad guys, rightfully blaming them instead of America for their violence and murder.
Simple choice; Vote Trump and America or vote Biden and a surrendering of the Cold War, 30 years later.

I did not opine above on which of the two participants "won" the debate. And I would say very emphatically that for people who are not intimate with the issues to pronounce who won the debate is absurd. Case in point: Biden said very emphatically that he has never publicly opposed fracking, and challenged the President to show a video proving him wrong.

Every well-informed American knows that he DID, on at least two occasions, state unequivocally that he opposes and will try to end fracking. Later, he backtracked and now says that he would only prohibit new fracking wells on government lands. If a viewer was not aware of the facts, he might well conclude that Biden won this skirmish...but he actually lost, blatantly lying when confronted with uncomfortable facts.

Biden has advocated for a more or less complete shutdown of America's social economy (restaurants, theaters, health clubs, churches, clubs, etc.), and yet when he is confronted with the economic catastrophe that this would undoubtedly cause, he laughs it off. He is pointedly too juvenile to publicly acknowledge that political executives MUST BALANCE the severity of the lockdown against the economic devastation that the shutdown causes. Balancing, shmalencing...who cares?

As for immigration, the biggest blockbuster was ignored as Biden again repeated the preposterous "eleven million" number, which even the Census Bureau now acknowledges is AT LEAST 23 million, and probably closer to 30. Does anyone think that a majority of Americans want thirty million new Democrat ,government teat-suckers???

Trump won, by a nose.
