I have a similar opinion. I think this is more of a feeler than a troll.

He’s trying to get people talking about this because he wants to gauge how strongly people support him pursuing a third term.

If his supporters fully rally behind him with right-wing media leading the way, then he’s going to try to do it regardless of what the Constitution says. If he doesn’t get enough support, then he plays it off like he was just kidding.

So as far-fetched as this may sound, I wonder if the ptsb might be setting things up for a "showdown" between Obama and Trump. In my view politics these days is mostly like WWE wrestling, so at this point who knows....sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

And before you start talking about the Constitution let me explain how Trump can do it - Constitution prohibits ELECTION of POTUS more than twice. However, if Trump runs as VP and his ticket wins then he can be HANDED the presidency by running mate (Vance presumably)

Of course, Trump is far more likely to be incapacitated by age than he is to pull this off, but absolutely he is self-absorbed and addicted to power enough to be thinking about this crazy shit.

He cannot run for VP as all VPs must be fully eligible to be President. He would not be because filling the term of another President is limited to 10 years, and there is no provision to replace him at the 10-year point, according to the 22nd Amendment.
