Good. The Congressional Black Caucus are a bunch of extremist poverty pimps cosplaying as civil rights activists. This group has done nothing to advance the case of blacks in America over the years, but they're great at pointing the finger and blame at everyone else for the failures of their communities.

Almost a third of the membership of the Congressional Black Caucus -- 19 of its 62 members -- are at risk of losing their seats through the 2028 election cycle as Republicans in southern states where they control the legislature move swiftly to redraw congressional maps less than two weeks after the Supreme Court dealt a blow to Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.

With the Dem RIGGED districts dismantled maybe blacks will elect true representatives.

Great news for America. Bad news for Democrats.

Regardless of the consequences, I'm against gerrymandering for any reason.

Agreed. They need to be drawn compact and in proportion with county and city lines whenever possible. The chips will fall where they may.

The problem is I simply don't see a way to make it "non-partisan" when you still use geographical districts.

The only real way to handle it is to vote via party lists or name lists and give each person in the State a party vote or X votes with X being the number of reps the State has.

Of course that would require a pretty radical Constitutional amendment.

That will surely bring Americans together.

Why do blacks feel they not only get a vote, but are guaranteed a win? Where’s that in our constitution?

Isn't this an outcome you want OP?

Due to the Constitutional requirement that Congressional Districts, in the various States, ought to provide equality of representation, there are sometimes legitimate needs to draw redistricting lines.

Not only is it obviously fair to avoid drawing those district boundaries along racial lines, it is (imho) also fair to avoid drawing them to favor one political party over another.

The claim that gerrymandering can be abused over racial motives is pretty clear. But I suspect that the main motivator has been to have them favor the political party in power in each state.

It is amazing how outright the demented LEFT mangle the English language.
The word EQUALITY has been twisted into the newspeak EQUITY....thing.
Sounds the same, but it is the complete OPPOSITE.

Then don’t use geographical districts...duh.

Clyburn helped Joe to get installed. He is nothing as he has done nothing. The Democrats have many clowns in power. Many more than the Republicans. They got what they wanted, and it is never enough.

Let's get down to basics:

The idea that only a Black person can represent other Black people is racist. The idea that POC's require special treatment under the law (and that includes entitlements) is not only racist but unconstitutional.

If you got elected BECAUSE you were Black (or because you are a woman), then your election was not legitimate.
