While doing my bike exercise machine routine this afternoon, I was reading the news on my phone, and in a Politico article on Trump, and tariffs 10 hours ago was this brief mention of a solution to the whole tariff mess, imho.

"In a post on Truth Social Friday morning, Trump announced that he had just spoken with Vietnam’s leader To Lam about the country’s offer to eliminate all tariffs as part of an agreement with the U.S., adding that he looks “forward to a meeting in the near future.”"

Somebody tell what is wrong with two countries doing away with all tariffs put on each other.

That seems to be the goal. The difficult question is why so many libs get confused when they're not handing out taxpayer money.

Curious. That's not half bad.

But I don't like being used as bait.

All these countries are going to fold. They need us to buy their stuff more than we need theirs.

Mary will look for new trade deals

Lefties will grind their teeth and hope for the price of eggs and gasoline to shoot back up

Why wait? The two countries can set their tariffs to zero on each other, now.

That's my hope, that Trump will go along with it,

Goal seems like a long way off. Sounds like all Trump has to do is agree with Lam's suggestion, now.

For poorer countries, you take away all tariffs and it might destroy some of their key industries.

The problem here is that Trump doesn't care if a country is poor or not, he wants to screw it over no matter what. He wants to "win", even if the winning causes more problems than it solves.

Literally the US is benefiting from poorer people making goods at a low cost and then shipping them to the US where they're bought by Americans for a low price. The US puts tariffs on such things, it's going to cause Americans problems.

It has a trade surplus because things are so cheap. Then Trump sees this as a problem. Why is buying cheap things from people bad for the US? It makes no sense.

Vietnam leader To Lam is saying both of us make it zero, now.
Vietnam is poised the be the next asian economic tiger and can take a lot of exports to America away from china

I dont agree that protecting poor workers in china or elsewhere is more important than protecting American workers
