A quick question about the shutdown.

12 million admitted to? 1000 per day at some crossings? Day after day. Got aways not counted. Estimated 80K/mo in the Tuscon sector?

More likely the 20 million aint far off.

This is where republicans find math abhorant.

Even at 1,000 per day, every day. It would take 32 years to get to 12 million.

Per crossing site. Try 10,000 per mo just in TX surrendering to Border guards. Long line. That was over million per yr just in TX. Now add in CA AZ. Off charts.

I prefer the covid subsidy extension just expire at the end of the year, as it is set to.

Actually 10,000 per month in Texas, comes to 100 years, to reach 12 million.

You'll need to find a lot more entries, like over 8,000 per day (every day) to get to 12 million.

Actually I found another link that said extending Covid subsidies for ACA would cost about $130b a year in 2026.
I’d like to see that link but let me remind you that the subsidy INCREASE that we’re talking about is much less than that.

Hardly 1.5 trillion

Everything I read says 350 billion over ten years

That’s 35 billion a year

Look. Its 10-12M Americans who'd lose their insurance. You can ask any question about it that you want but at the end of the day that is the result. So, how you feel about that is up to you. If that doesnt bother you, then cool.
Seems like having more healthy people would be the preferred outcome....right?

OK, found that link:

"Just five years ago, annual spending on Obamacare subsidies was $57 billion. In 2024, annual spending on Obamacare subsidies is projected to more than double to $125 billion."

So call the 2026 subsidy about $130b. I'm okay with it to help get past Bidenflation's $11,400 hit to US household buying power. Losing that subsidy would be punishing.

On another thread I found avg family of 4 monthly cost for Obamacare in 2019 was $1,400, after the Covid subsidy it was $900, and if the subsidy ends the 2026 monthly cost would be $1,600.

So I'm okay keeping the $130b subsidy, but the $1.5T adder is a very hard NO.

Who is not eligible for Obamacare?
Must live in the United States. Must be a U.S. citizen or national (or be lawfully present).

***right there illegals do get it if they claim phony ASSylum. Stain lie for a living.

Somebody shut the Postman claiming 12M illegals dod not enter under Obiden. Not to mention got-aways. Mercy!

$130B for 13 million one year is $10,000 per subsidy. A lot.

So let’s see . Your link doesn’t actually talk about 2026 at all

And it’s an insurance company trying to promote sales.

Fail junior

The cost of the extended increase of premiums is projected to be 350B over ten years

That’s 35B a year

THAT is what the shutdown is about

Trump wants to give more than that to Argentina

You can buy UHC private for $700/mo.? But maybe doesn't cover DIK removal?

Then SHUP about $1.5T you dumb OX. Start a clean thread at $35B per year. Why do we have to lock in ten years? Are you crazy?

I had it at $20B early in this thread. Who's smart now OXYEN herd.

They are NOT liberals, for ****'s sake. They are scum.

If you choose not to call them by what they are -- SCUM, then call them by something more accurate, like "Leftists"

But they GOD-DAMNED sure aren't 'liberals'

the left does this shit all the time. They change your language. Humans use language to form thought, to plan, to co-habitate, to farm, to work, to play, to THINK. We THINK in words.

Don't let the scum of the Earth control how you think. Because that IS what they're trying to do when when they call themselves 'liberals'. Scum of the Earth is more like it. If it makes your tummy hurt to call them waht they are, then call them Leftists. NOT liberals.

Doing that is an insult to sentient beings everywhere.

dimocraps are scum

period
What do we (ordinary people) gain by the hate? Explain HATE as a plus for AMERICA?

Show me the link for what the SUBSIDY cost for the last several years, the recent years, so we can get a good number for 2026.
My link is more accurate than your non-link.

The shutdown is about $1.5T of waste that democrats want added back into the budget.

What the entire subsidy costs is irrelevant actually.

The shutdown is not about keeping or removing them.

It’s about extending the INCREASE in those subsidies in order to keep them from doubling.

Keep up

The cost of extending that increase is 35B a year.

Less than Trump wants to give to Argentina

WRONG. If you want to discuss extending it, we need to know how much it costs.
My estimate is $130b a year for 2026.

WRONG. The subsidy EXPIRES therefore if you want to add it to the 2026 budget it needs to be a line item.
$138b isn't that bad actually, tariffs can cover it. It would help ease the $11,400/yr Bidenflation cost families.
The $1.5T add that democrats want is a hard NO.
