‘A literal gut punch’: Missouri workers devastated by Republican repeal of paid sick leave

you guys are union...that makes a difference....
I'm not at UPS anymore, but yes.

That's why people who want paid days off, health insurance, good pay, etc. should seek those jobs.

But they have to bring something to the table. At UPS, it was willingness to do hard physical work hard in hot conditions, while reading zip codes and remember how to sort them accurately.

The republican government in MO repealed a bill providing paid sick leave to workers that was approved by 58% of the voters. For lower income workers a sick day means unpaid bills or food off the table. They caved to a powerful lobbying group composed of industry groups, who of course have more available funds than struggling workers.

Another case of Republican rule, the worst government money can buy.

As a Catholic, I have great affinity for the worker. That's why I like Trump so much. He cares about workers and the businesses than employs them. He wants more businesses and more workers.

Gotta keep those workers down right? They are bad people.
We need an even playing field. Businesses offer wages and benefits. If those wanting jobs or already working don't like those wages and benefits then they go somewhere else. Workers have the right to work or quit. Employers should have equal rights to either have those workers or let them go. It's a 50/50 thing.

How many sick days to you want employers to be forced to provide a new employee?
I think ten per annum is standard in this country, and if all of the days are not immediately available for a new hire they very soon are. Because shit happens.

when his hotel workers were on strike out here he never showed up to end the strike......he didnt seem to care about them....

Moron, you are talking about sick time based on hours worked. Who cares?
90 % of americans dont earn sick time based on hours worked.

Nobody lost healthcare
You are missing the point, as usual. The people voted for it. the RWNJs took it away to appease the business that would have to pay it.

tRump does not care about workers at all. He undermined collective bargaining, he cut safety regulations, he eliminated wage protections, he ended anti discrimination laws, there's dozens of ways he hurt workers.

That was a partisan play in 2016 designed to hurt him politically. Nothing real about that.

I believe President Trump was the one who secured no taxation on restaurant workers. That's a huge deal. He's bringing huge amounts of business to the US, all employing thousands of workers. The workers have never had a friend as good as DJT.

Yeah, that didn't happen.
  • "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) includes a tip deduction: Signed into law on July 4, 2025, the OBBBA includes a temporary deduction for qualifying tips for the years 2025-2028. This means eligible workers can deduct up to $25,000 in reported tip income from their federal taxable income.
Neat how AI prevents you leftwingers from BSing, isn't it?
