Cool knives. The part of the country I live in has a very large Norwegian community, so I see those every once in awhile.

Norwegians are funny people, this is their idea of a taco...

As it regards the kid's knife....

Children started off with a knife with a guard. When they learned to properly handle the knife the guard was removed, later (usually a holiday/birthday) they are presented with a nicer guard-less knife.

That probably explains why I see a lot of four-fingered Norwegians.
 
As best as I can figure thus far the Puukko was made pre-WW-2 on their Lapland pattern. The handle is burl birch.
