Alright, I watched this movie last night on Netflix and I have to say the trailer was better than the movie. FAR better in my opinion. I mean, I know that it was supposed to be a Santa Claus movie, but it really ticked me off that they were acting like that's all that Christmas was about and I kept half expecting after Nikolas asked the one elf what Christmas was to at least make some kind of Jesus reference,.. but NO they had to go all woke for the people who don't believe in Jesus and to all those He offends. My final diagnosis is a five out of ten for this movie. I only really watched it in the first place because it came from the same studio that created The Christmas Chronicles and I love that movie and its sequel.

I used to have a cute little dog named Christmas! But I traded him for a harmonica. :eusa_whistle:

Or was that dog's name Little Pete, or Wheezle? :smoke: I forget now.

But trailers, they are always better than the movie because they cut and paste the best parts of the movie together, out of sequence, to make the movie look different from what it really is.

I agree,.. but seriously? I would rather have the doggie. :)

When the people who make movies hate the subject matter....you're going to get a subpar product.

Yeah, but they didn't even get the origin of the word Christmas right. It means Christ's mass which originated from having mass on Christ's Day. They just completely went and wrote Him out of the book as if He never existed when He's the one who wrote the book. Again, I understand it's a Santa movie, but they just went way too far with this one.

Jesus never said that being a Christian meant that you couldn't have fun as well. As long as we remember the true meaning of Christmas then I don't see any harm in also celebrating the Santa part of it and everything else that goes along with it. This movie didn't remember Jesus at all though and that's what makes me upset. And even though I don't expect Santa movies to mention Him, I do expect them not to completely change the meaning of the holiday.

There are many Christmas movies that are just enjoyable and many that carry the spirit of Christmas without getting into the religious aspect. Christmas is more than just a celebrations of the birth of Christ. Some contend Christmas is Christ’s day. Others assert it is a Pagan holiday. Naturally, there are those who do not care and, to them, it is time to party. More than half of all Americans would like to skip the holiday due to the stress associated with the commercialism and societal pressures. Movies makers certainly understand this and it influences the kind of movies they make.

There are some really good Christmas movies, some that are just fun, others that exemplify the spirt of Christmas without going into the a religious theme. The reason major productions avoid religion in Christmas movies is that they want to appeal to as large of an audience as possible in both in the US and abroad. A movie that includes anything other than a comment about the birth of Christ or Christianity is likely to limit the audience and less audience means less money.
