9 signs you're in a political cult

Nope. Not at all. But your post here is an excellent example of gaslighting.
Like when in 2020, the Republican party didn’t even adopt a platform but just said “we support whatever Trump says”.

Moreover, the modern Republican Party is not especially well known for having robust policy debates.

More word salad.
And biden's policies?

I read through the 9 traits and then scanned the paragraphs that followed each to get a sense of the trait. The last two I didn't get any sense of, not that I tried all that hard. So for the first seven, I placed my feeling in a mathematical equation of which of the 2 major political parties most exhibited the trait.

[1] You find a sense of purpose in embracing a totalistic ideology that sees itself in intractable opposition with the “evil other.”
Democrats > Republicans

[2] You strive for the creation or recreation of a utopian society
Democrats > Republicans

[3] Your views are defined and enforced by a select cadre of thinkers, leaders and co-believers.
Democrats = Republicans

[4] You regard freedom of expression as essential for your opinions, but “problematic” for all others.
Democrats > Republicans

[5] You consider the “mere presence” of someone who disagrees with you as “threatening” or “harmful to the community.”
Democrats = Republicans

[6] You seek unanimity of opinion and routinely dismiss alternative views as displays of “disloyalty” or “fragility.”
Democrats = Republicans

[7] You’re more concerned with shaping others in your own ideological image than encouraging them to think for themselves.
Trump > (Democrats + Republicans)

To illustrate that you don't have a clue what you're talking about and you look really really ignorant and foolish when you post things like you posted here:

Cleveland, OhioAfter two days of debate, at times heated, the 112 Republican national convention delegates charged with crafting the party’s 2016 platform produced a document that acknowledged their presumptive presidential nominee’s stands, but hardly embraced them. Indeed, the overriding concern of many of the delegates seemed to be to make sure that the GOP platform hewed to its traditionally conservative position on social issues, views that Donald Trump tends to eschew. One striking element of the 2016 Republican platform debate was the lack of intervention by the Trump campaign.

And in 2020 they adopted the same platform as 2016 while Trump had a long list of goals and objectives he would try to reach.

Trump is not a partisan Republican which is why many in the old guard GOP hated him and tried to sabotage him. They hated him for getting done what they gave lip service to but said could not be accomplished.

And Trump is no ideologue so high sounding platitudes and philosophical ideals are lost on him. He's a see what the the problem actually is and find a way to fix it person and he doesn't much care who gets credit.

Leftists want a utopian society not Republicans
Leftists believe everyone should believe as they do if not you're evil.
Leftists believe they own freedom of expression.
Leftist can't handle when someone thinks for themselves.

Leftists want a utopian society not Republicans

--> Has not the orange leader promised maga republic cities and areas for you fuckups to live in.

Leftists believe everyone should believe as they do if not you're evil.

--> Leftists call maga cult members wrong and ignorant. You fuckups use you religion to call us evil and ungodly fuckup

Leftists believe they own freedom of expression.

--> Both sides selectively defend or oppose freedom of expression, but maga hates anything that looks to them out of step with their expressions. Those people have colored skin, gay or have long hair...Hell a school district in the free state of florida just banned the dictionary for words.

Leftist can't handle when someone thinks for themselves.

--> Sure, just look who uses the ignore button on the board more.

You need to get out more often.
Perhaps you can point me to two Republicans who agree on everything? And assure me that you aren't one of the leftist/Democrats who smugly chortle and enjoy when Republicans don't agree with each other? You probably forgot how many ballots it took to get McCarthy elected Speaker? The bruhaha over ousting McCarthy? It took the Democrats one vote to elect Jeffries.

Because of this tendency, utopian socialism was also related to classical radicalism, a left-wing liberal ideology.[6]

I take back what I said. I have overstated the extent to which the 2020 platform was thrown to Trump, however they did adopt Trump's 50 platitudes rather than change the platform, which no one read or cared about anyway, least of all Trump.

Trump was able to bend the Republican party agenda to his desire, causing whiplash for some of these people, including his base. The Republican base, once rabidly pro-war, transformed itself to the party of isolationism. Similar issue with protectionism. The Republican base has absolutely followed suit, as now the party is staunchly anti-war and staunchly free trade.

That said, other parts of the Republican party are still as homogenous as always. Abortion, taxes, etc.

To be frank, the Republican party is not motivated by policy. They're really operating mostly on emotional appeals.

As for saying he doesn't care who gets credit, you have to be absolutely kidding me. He complained constantly he wasn't getting enough credit. Don't forget he got his name put on the stimulus checks, which was bizarre and pointless.

You must not have read any of that. Oh well.

On that last one you mention I do give the edge for open-mindedness to Republicans. The title of the point had me leaning that way, but it also seemed to duplicate of earlier mentioned points. Only after reading the point's following sentence that it fit Trump's mindset of surrounding himself with "yes" men and brown-noses.

[7] You’re more concerned with shaping others in your own ideological image than encouraging them to think for themselves.
A President of the United States who asserts that I alone can fix it” and “I am the chosen one” probably won’t be an admirer of independent thinking in others.

Most Trump supporters are concerned with America's future and not allowing our children to live under a dictatorship.

The family feud? :auiqs.jpg: please Magatoids eating their own. You conflate things as a way of attempting to resolve the cognitive dissonance of belonging to the cult-of-personality surrounding Trump.

They march in lockstep when the trumpets are blown.
