"User CP" is the first thing I check when I log on and then rather than filter through the forums, I go to "New Posts" and hang out there for as long as I am logged on. I get every post that goes through the system in that manner.

I have a 90 year old Mother who was taking a drug that costs $20 that was banned by the FDA and was replaced by one that cost $160, that is $140 more out of her SS each month and those that have insurance will see an increase in premiums due to this ban which amounts to helping special interest out.

I actually blame the FDA for banning the $20 drug, it seems that they are "owned" by the pharmaceutical company that makes the $160 drug. That Medicare Part D is subsidized; you favor subsidizing these pharmaceutical/insurance companies with billions of dollars? What about the working 40 year old that was taking that $20 drug that can't get on Medicare Part D, what do you think United Healthcare Insurance Company and other insurance companies are going to do with their $5 co-pays;think they will just eat this $140 increase, **** no they won't, they are going to raise their premiums to offset this $140 increase. Nothing is free and who takes it straight up the ass...Us peons.

No one should be denied life-saving medicine just because they can't afford it.

I would suggest you call the pharmaceutical company yourself on behalf of your grandmother. I think all of them have their own low-cost assistance plans if she's eligible. It might at least bring the cost down a little further. Actually, anyone can do that if they fall between the cracks of eligibility determination and have no private coverage.

As I've said, jobs aren't going to come back in one fell swoop so that everyone gets to go back to work Monday. Some lost jobs will never come back because the businesses themselves produce something that was going downhill anyway. We have had huge layoffs in Vermont because machinists were in great demand until the last manufacturing plant closed that required actual hands-on skills. Those will not be returning, and those people will need to get retraining in other fields. That much is also a given.
