Renewables provided 77.9% of Australia's electricity for one day. Rooftop solar provided 43.6% of that. A thousand Australian households per day are installing storage batteries, many pairing that with solar. Here in the US, this could also work, and we have the vast wind potential of our mid-west.

I'd rather have a Super Max prison on my property line than a solar/wind farm. 😐

I wonder if the Aussies are screwing over their citizens like CA did.....Residents with roof solar in CA were selling back power to the utility at the retail rate (what they pay) but CA was losing so much tax revenue that now it can only be sold back at the wholesale rate so no savings is being realized because the retail rate there is so high.

Roof solar should be sold back at wholesale rate, provided that they pay the peaker rate when the peaker plants are running. And having your own solar, particularly with a battery backup, means you are not paying for that expensive grid electricity most of the time. So, you are saving money by not having to pay for the electricity you use, and also making a few coins on what you sell to the grid.

A 76 year old woman just paid with her life butchered by a rogue solar panel.
Have you not had enough blood on your hands yet?

When O when does this environmental green terrorism end? First it was the birds, now it is old people.

They were making a few coins but now at the wholesale rate they are losing money.

No, they are not losing money. Payback period for rooftop solar is 7 to 10 years, and the panels are guaranteed for 25. If you have battery backup, then you are also powering your home at night, not paying grid prices for your electricity.

The average cost for a home solar battery backup system is typically between $6,000 and $12,000, with most systems falling within this range

Oh, so now you have to toss the cost of battery backup in to (possibly) make up for what CA took away from CA homeowners.....Got it!....Move the goal posts much?

Jeez, you are either a true green hoax believer of a just fuckin' rube.

Australia does not have the energy to manufacture or run industry.

Australia is suffering power shortages and extreme prices. The only that sustains green energy in increasing debt on a national scale

then add the fact all stand alone systems need a genny to back up the batteries ........
