If one disobeys a legal order that one believes to be illegal, that can be determined afterwards.

Afterwards? By who? If the order is given by your superior, it was already determined to be lawful by your Command. Your job is to carry out your orders. If every soldier began refusing to carry out their orders based on their "belief," our military would collapse. It can take years to determine the legality or constitutionality of a given point, even by experts.

Sorry, skinflap, but the average soldier, not even his commander, is qualified to judge constitutional law much less ACT on it, based on a mere "belief."

That would be the responsibility of the General upon whom the POTUS gave the order to. Once the Commander accepts orders from the POTUS, it is the troop's responsibility to carry them out.

If every soldier in every branch of service questioned, or stopped to question every order, we'd have no military, which is clearly the intent of our enemies and the Left.

Can you give us even a single instance where a lieutenant or someone was ordered to do something, refused to carry out his commander's orders on the basis of it being "illegal," then that order was reviewed up the chain then found to have been illegal by upper echelon whereby the lieutenant was absolved of any crime of refusing a command?

And when you tell me you don't have one because it has never happened and that the terms "legal" and illegal" are far too vague terms to base a military decision on, how would you ever know it could ever work that way? Hint: It wouldn't.

And where would that leave our military with orders being regularly refused and sent back for review on their "legality?"

And when you tell me you cannot come up with even a single example of an "illegal" order because no other CIC has ever given an "illegal" order, will you mind it much when I fall over laughing hard in your stupid face?
