This report is from two years ago, but it accentuates the reason why Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are pushing for the continued use of H1-B visas. Chicago public schools received $11.2 billion from local and federal funding and with a little over 325,000 students, this funding breaks out to be over $34,000 per student. Despite this, it's one of the worst performing school districts in the country. I'd say the residents keep voting for the mediocrity Vivek criticized, but this is flat out failure.

This is a scenario we continue to see in school districts all around the country.
