While true, there are more effective and less expensive ways to curb illegal immigration and drug running. We should implement those first before building a monument to the stupidity of man.

And what can reduce entry by 95% at the cost of putting up seven strands of concertina wire? I.e. at dirt cheap costs?

Arresting, charging and, if convicted, imprisoning anyone who supports illegal immigration by employing, renting to or otherwise enticing foreigners to break our laws.

Isn't it cheaper to round up a few dozen employers than 11 million illegals, most of whom will try to come back? If we imprison millions of illegals, then that costs a bunch of tax payer money too. Better to imprison a few employers/renters and let the illegals self-deport.

Why cant we do all of these things? Physically shut down 95% of it, reduce the draw by targeting employers of black market labor and also enforcing the laws already on the books?

We can, but our government has a responsibility to American tax payers to get the best bang for their buck. A 1900+ mile wall would not only be costly to build (up to $25B in materials), but cost 10-15 BILLION dollar per year to maintain and staff. Better to try the cheaper and, IMO, more effective methods first then, if those don't get the job done, consider adding tens of billions of tax payer dollars to the national debt.

The only reason there are any terrorist groups, dedicated to wiping Israel off the map, is because Iran continues to supply all the terrorist groups.

Look at the two topics of gun control and illegal immigration.

Immigration is easily fixed.

First, the border has to be closed, but that is easily done by putting the MILITARY in charge of border security. No need for a wall.

Fine businesses and individuals who hire illegals $100K per illegal employee (that's already illegal, all we're doing is upping the fine)

Deny welfare benefits to illegal immigrates and to US citizens under the age of 18 who don't have at least one parent who is a US citizen.

Arrest city and state officials who defy federal law

Then you give those who are here illegally (whether by sneaking across the border or from expired visas or what have you) 60 days to report the local DMV where they will be finger printed and issued an ID card. Then run back ground checks and forcibly remove those who don't pass background checks whilst issuing some sort of work permit that allows those who are being good neighbors to stay (still no welfare for them, but after this point make it legal to hire them)

After the 60 days , anyone who is arrested for any other offense and can't show that they are here legally get an automatic 10 year prison sentence regardless of whether they are found guilty of whatever crime they were arrested for or not.

Illegal immigration solved. No wall, no mass deportations.
