Yes, I've wondered where maidiac went as well especially for his love of Japanese girl rock bands (hence the maids in maidiac), but if you think of it, this tile job was not hard at all. All he had to do was to lay out the design concept in advance on paper.

Since it is all geometric, many of the parameters can be arbitrary.

And of course, the 3D effect only works from one POV. Still, pretty cool.
