I'm sorry but if that is my parent, spouse, child, sibling etc. being held hostage, I likely would not agree he/she should be sacrificed to make a point. Not if there is any other way to accomplish his/her release.

But in this case, the "other way" is to go on into phase II of the ceasefire agreement which would remove the IDF from Gaza's border with Egypt, allowing Hamas to smuggle more weapons from Egypt which will likely cost the lives of IDF soldiers and beyond that the ceasefire is designed to see a complete withdrawal of the IDF and the return of Gaza to Hamas. Just how many other Israeli lives would you be willing to sacrifice to save your special person?

That may not be a fair question to ask you, but it is the question the Israeli government must ask itself everyday before deciding whether or not to continue the ceasefire.
