There are no good answers here. The war has two purposes, to free the hostages and to destroy Hamas and the other terrorists. While the ceasefire has made it possible for some of the hostages to be released, it has also allowed Hamas to rearm and rebuild and that will cost the loves of IDF soldiers when the war resumes, so how do you choose?

If members of my family were being held captive, it's what I'd want done.

How many of these Hostages, especially the women and girls, would welcome death if the choice is another 6 months at the hands of these monsters.

So according to phase 1 of the ceasefire agreement, the IDF will withdraw completely from the Philadelphi Corridor making it impossible for the IDF to stop the smuggling of weapons from Egypt. More weapons and rebuilt fortification will certainly cost more IDF lives when the war resumes.
