269-269 tie scenario to BLOW YOUR MIND

Go back and read the Amendment out loud to yourself.

The electors won't switch. Romney president and Biden vice-president.

Didn't the OP already post this?

Did not involve a House split between Romney, Obama, and Johnson the last time.

My point is that once its clear the choice will go to Congress, the electors could do most anything you can imagine!

In 26 states, the electors are not bound to vote as they have pledged. Nothing in the 12th amendment says otherwise. The Democratic electors (or any) in those states may still vote Obama for Vice President so long as they choose someone who is not Obama and not a resident of Obama's state (Kenya, right?) as their vote for President. Further - there's nothing in the 12th amendment that would require the electors pledged for Obama or Romeny vote as pledged. In 24 states they will penalized (and legally so accord to the SCOTUS) in some way for failing the their pledge, but their vote is still valid as far as the Congress and Supreme Court are concerned.

Maybe you can show me what part of the your 12th amendment says otherwise.

You know Obama is in serious trouble when just 2 weeks ago his dedicated ass sniffers were all chirping about a "mandate" and winning 350 electoral votes. Now it's "what if there is a tie"?

Won't be a tie, and Romney will win. I remember all the far right crazy ass sniffers talking about a Romney win a half year ago, then whined when the other side was ahead. You fucks on both far sides of the spectrum are the offal of the political process.

One, the House WILL vote for Romney.

Two, the Senate WILL vote for Biden.

Thus, we will have Romney and a GOP House looking at Biden and Reed with a Democratic senate majority.

Oh joy.

The HOUSE will indeed vote for Mitt in the almost impossible scenario that there is an electoral college tie.

But if the VP needs to then be chosen by the Senate, they will vote for Ryan, not Biden Why?

Because the Senate will be in GOP hands after the election.

Liability, is one of the whiny ass sniffers. Fortunately, I applaud his whiny ass-sniffing vote for Romney, because Mitt has a 2013 Surprise for them in store.

In the meantime, unlearned one, go back and read the 12th Amendment again and learn which Congress will vote for the President and the Vice-President if it it comes in 269 each.

A right not enumerated remains a right.

The House of Representatives is democratically elected and has the greater power as all money used must go through it. The Senate is there to balance protection of the small vs the big.

The president represents all the people. All the people should vote for the post.

Hence the 10th Amendment....the power is up to the states and the people to decide.
The states Legislatures deciding their vote for President is well within their rights....there is no Constitutional right that guarantees that people get to vote for President.

The states in and of themselves have nothing to say about it at all.

The GOP and Dems in the House organized by their delegations vote for the President.

The Senators by party will vote for the veep.

Thus, Romney president, Biden vice-president.

So, the electoral college should be abandoned in favor of direct election of the president.

Then there is little to prevent changing to democratic direct election, as it should be.

Whom does the president represent if not all the people? (I mean aside from the present political reality that the president really serves the powers that be)

Nope, the EC is fine the way it is and no need requires a change.

If there is a tie the speaker of the house gets to chose the winner.. Good bye Obama lol

Another good argument against the electoral system.

Wrong, The House of Reps are our most Direct Representatives in our Government, It makes perfect sense they be the ones to break and electoral Tie.

I guarantee if Romney takes the Popular Votes, and Obama wins the EC, all of the sudden you libs will wake up to the Wisdom of the EC system.
