25% of Feds Would Consider Leaving Their Jobs if Trump Becomes President

One in four federal workers would consider leaving their jobs if Trump were elected president, according to a new survey conducted by the Government Business Council, Government Executive Media Group’s research arm. About 14 percent of respondents said they would definitely consider leaving federal service under President Trump, while an additional 11 percent said they might. The findings indicate those leaving government would come from agencies’ top ranks, as a majority of respondents were in General Schedule positions GS-13 and higher.

Nearly as many Democrats said they would consider leaving in a Trump administration as would definitely stay, the survey found. Among Democrats, 42 percent said they would consider leaving, while 48 percent would not. Just 8 percent of Republican feds would consider refusing to work in a Trump presidency.

Overall, 8 percent of respondents said they “don’t know” if they would consider leaving their jobs if Trump prevails in November.

Great. Half of all federal government personnel do nothing of value anyway.

There will be no federal employees leaving their jobs except for possibly some of those in executive appointment types of jobs. These folks enjoy great insurance and a fantastic retirement. They also make more than most private employees with similar jobs even though they will tell you they don't. You couldn't run them off with a club.

Good.

If he works at it, maybe he could up it to 30% or even 40%.

Let 25% leave and fire another 25%....it would still be bloated

Do you believe the government has more employees or fewer than it did 10, 20 or even 30 years ago?
Fewer in a much larger population. Hmmm. And in spite of all the bloviating above, Trump will take care of federal workers.

based on what evidence?
From the same sources the bloviators are making their opinions, out of thin air.

Mere observation of results.

Weather, that's the dumbest poll I've heard yet, right up there with with the percentage of over or under toilet paper rolls. I seriously doubt anyone is going to give up a living because of who is Prez, most of whom would never lay eyes on the guy anyway. However, OTOH he is fond of firing folks.

I actually think this is a wonderful thing, but I will still never vote for Trump for president.

Great, sounds like a good way to downsize and not have to pay unemployment.

Promises promises...

Thin the fat. I suppose that's a definite plus for Trump lol
Grandpa, here's a listing of Government employees back to 1962. A few mild peaks, but actually no outstanding changes. I do notice the decrease in military beginning about 1990. What do you make of this:

Total Government Employment Since 1962
The government is bloated. See our debt for proof

that certainly is a symptom

I do, too. And that would be a triumph for Trump.

Tons of paperwork should be automated already.
Documents in Duplicate and Triplicate? A thing of the past.
