This one sticks out the most. A study state by state of states with high numbers of Covid restrictions vs states with fewer, and their infection rates per capita and unemployment. What is found is no relationship between restrictions and infections (meaning restrictions do nothing) but a major relationship between restrictions and unemployment. Notice methodology is given.

There are traditional methods known to work.
One is totally quarantine, but that requires facilities and contact tracing, which we are unwilling to pay for, and it is likely too late to use.
Another is herd immunity, where you let or help the initial spike to use up enough of the potential hosts, that the virus dies out. That is prevented by flattening the curve, even though it would have saved the most lives because it is quickest. You can also speed it up through variolation of the young/healthy.

Left wingers like me are claiming the covid-19 empidemic was and is a hoax because any seasonal flu can be retained long enough to kill as many as covid-19 has, if you deliberately prevent herd immunity through flattening of the curve.
Herd immunity only works though local burn out of potential future hosts, so requires the highest initial spike possible.
Herd immunity results in the lowest possible death toll, because it moves all the deaths to the very start of the epidemic, when it does the most good to end it entirely.
