21,000 students were absent today in Charlotte Public Schools,

How do you explain the wealthiest nation students keep on losing to developed Asian counties in just about every test?

A) Because we educate and test all our students.

B) Because you don't want us to educate our students the way students are educated in many countries.

Do you worry about her lack of social interaction ?
There is much more to 'education' than what is the books.

Our Grandson was Home-Schooled for a time, then his parents decided to send him to a Private School. We live in Florida, consistently rated the best when it comes to Public School education

May 7, 2024 — Florida is again ranked #1 in the nation for education. The publication's Best State ranking is based on a combination of strong performances in higher ..

But it's still Public Schools with Public School Teachers. The worst on the Planet. And we get the Pick of The Litter down here. Thousands of Teachers from up North are trying to escape the insanity, the crime, the filth and idiotic politics of the North. So we get to pick and choose.

But it's still Public School with Public School Teachers......

Fortunately, Florida offers Vouchers to Private Schools (we're one of the few) and he is quite a good athlete so they help with the tuition as long as he's on the team. Which, he just got an offer to a good University to play for them -- In TWO (2) years!

Kids gotta learn. And they learn a lot more in school than what's in the books. Some of it bad. And they need to earn about that, too.

Quick to criticize when you are out of your league, specifically the Ivy league.

All colleges have a core curriculum. Do you think I liked taking English literature because I was an aerospace engineering student? No, I didn't think I needed it at the time, but as a side note it gave me a lot more appreciation for all of the references to Shakespeare and Moby Dick in Star Trek!:D

I also had to a take foreign language, which I never used except when watching WWII movies (German). I also had to take history but took the CLEP test and had such an excellent high school education, I bypassed the entire course, which was ironic because I eventually got my degree in it. I even had to take a sociology class to ensure I was well-rounded. Passed that class and only went to class twice.

If you don't want to take those courses, go to a community ed class and get a certificate.
You're missing the whole point -- Again. As usual.

Yes. Look it up.
I don't need to but knock yourself out.

"The share of America’s school-age children attending public schools ticked slightly downward every year from 2014 to 2022—just before a wave of new universal private school choice programs began to further complicate the K-12 landscape. But public schools continue to enroll the overwhelming majority of America’s young people."

...

And you will probably deny it somewhere else tomorrow and demand proof again

Its a standard delaying tactic your side uses

Expecting support for a claim is not a "delaying tactic." It's basic logic. Like spelling and punctuation, it should be something you don't need to be reminded of over and over again.

Lol .. that would be Democrats. Teachers and parents in Asia don't **** around. Students are required to respect the teacher or face an ass whooping. Schools in Asia don't care about feelings on math or this white supremacy nonsense. Here's a math problem, solve it. They don't shut down gifted schools like what Democrats are doing here. Students there are not allowed to use the phone while in class. Can't say the same here.

We may educate all students here but failing. What's the next excuse? Not enough money?

I am embellishing anything. I told you what the stats are saying. You should ask what are the reasons that more parents are sending their kids to private school.

Have you been to many schools in Asia to see any of this for yourself? Gotten to know families well enough to say they "don't **** around," or is this just a stereotype you're comfortable with?

Slightly more. Not so dramatic. The original claim was "skyrocketing."

No, more accurately about 100,000 per month

I would also limit legal immigration for a few years as we did between WWI and WWII

But for sure no more than the 1.2 million we allow in now

Meaning no to border jumpers or visa overstays tolerated at all

And reduce one legal immigrant for every asylum seeker we choose to admit

Better question you should ask is do you for a moment believe that students there beat up their own teachers or physically fighting with their teachers. Stop pretending. There's a startling difference between the Chinese and Japanese culture vs. black and Hispanic culture when it comes to education.

When you already know the answer before ypu demand a link is just a delaying tactic

Usually used when libs are losing the arguement

How do you know? Have you taught many Chinese, Japanese, Black, and Hispanic students for decades?
