“We all saw what happened on the Texas border last summer, but we need to understand that the problem is not going away,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told CBS’s “Face the Nation” with Bob Schieffer on Sunday.
“Already this calendar year, since January 1, we have had more than 20,000 people come across the border, apprehended, unauthorized. And so we have an ongoing problem on the border that Congress must step up and solve.”
(All told in fiscal year 2014, U.S immigration officials removed 213,719 individuals apprehended while attempting to unlawfully enter the United States.)
Texas Governor Since Jan. 1 We Have Had More Than 20 000 People Come Across the Border CNS News
Does somebody realize how to deal with this illegal immigrants' problem?
Doesn't the U.S. (as capitalists) want cheap labor, something the "illegal" immigrants provide for us, which, in turn, enables higher profits? How does/would the right respond to this? For example, if our borders were completely sealed, with no immigrant workforce, how would that affect the average american's pocketbook, if at all? Is that a viable option?
How much do immigrants coming over to live here illegally really cost taxpayers?
Do other countries have these types of border problems? Why or why not?
I really want to understand all this stuff.
